At Go Noodle House, One Utama, we also ordered a bowl of Pan Mee Soup at MYR9.50+ (MYR10.45 nett) and add one serving of Bursting Meat Balls (3 meat balls) to it at MYR3.50+ (MYR3.85 nett). One meat ball costs about MYR1.28 nett, not that we can order just one. We ordered the "tear" noodle type where the noodle dough is rolled into a thin sheet and then tear or cut into broad pieces. Yin choy (amaranth greens), deep fried anchovies, black fungus (cloud ear fungus) cut into thin strips, one piece of fish paste (yu wat) and minced pork were included by default. We can detect wine in the broth.

有间面馆。A popular restaurant in One Utama. Always have to queue up during lunch hours. Wine is added to the soup which makes it taste nice. You can also request to add addional wine into the soup or even buy a bottle of wine from them, keep it there, and get them to add it to your noodle soup during your visit.

Sam Kan Chong - 1 Utama Shopping Centre 三间庄 Restaurant

LG122, Lower Ground Floor, One Utama Shopping Centre

Eating in Sam Kan Chong is eating amongst sixty-years of history! The tradition of pork meatballs making in Malaysia dates back to the post era of the 2nd world war. Master Khong Zing, who originated from the district of Canton, China, left his homeland to Peninsular Malaya for a better life. He commenced his venture by setting up his business in the heard of Kuala Lumpur, more precisely at Jalan Silang. For some urgent personal matter, he went home whereof his business had to be taken care for by Chan Fatt Kam. As the meatballs are of exceptional taste and quality, Chan does not face much difficulty to expand and further enhance the business. At that moment the shop was situated in such a way that it was annexed to two other shops at the road junction. Henceforth, the regular customers have named it as “San Jian Chuang”, translated as well known and is synonymous to meatballs. Thereafter Chan has passed on the art of making meatballs to one Yap See Chiew, the next generation to continue the art and to make available to the public, the exquisite taste of superior and quality meatballs, Yap has then set up his own establishment in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur of which is known as “San Jian Chuang”. He has further branched out to Petaling Jaya (behind Mak Yee Restaurant) whereof most of Petaling Jaya folks would patronize it for breakfast, especially weekends.

If you are a first timer at sam kan chong (三间庄), be sure not to miss the 3JC in sauce with homemade noodle (三间庄秘制干捞) RM12.20 which is their signature dried noodle serve with minced pork, roasted sausage slices and a bowl of pork ball soup. The noodles are springy with an appetizing brownish soy sauce colour, extremely flavourful where you can occasionally savour bits of braised minced pork during the noodle slurping session. A truly satisfying moment while you chuck in a few spoonfuls of pork ball broth (just to clear the palate) in between “the chew-chew noodles session” until you finally reached the rock bottom of the bowl. As a simple economic daily meal, what else you could ask for? 😉

The lunch set is pretty good. We especially like the sambal chili they serve though, it goes well with the noodles.

I wanted to visit this shop for sometimes, but usually it's packed with people during lunch hours. Today I am finally here, I arrived around 11:40 am and there are lots of empty seats. I ordered the Hakka Pounded Tea Pan Mee, it tastes yummy; I love it, I feel it's worth to try.

The tradional soup pan mee is one of the specialities at Noodle Shack. The halal pan mee I could say will be the highlight here where it is served with fu chok, minced chicken as well as black fungus. Well, it comes to a disappointment to have our meal there as the portion was fairly small one. The noodle itself is powdered and it does not tirns good wih the soup with it. It is overall below my expectation. Price: RM 8.90

The udon is OK. You can choose some tempura as well (pay separately). Overall, I think the price doesn't match with the portion of food.
