What do We Like about Choon Prawn Mee House? -The prawn mee broth which was rich, and full of prawns’ flavour
The traditional Prawn Mee was very nice, I think prawn-based soup was a little bit on the sweet side and not as spicy as I'd imagine it to be, which fits my taste buds. Nice!
我喜欢Nyonya咖喱鱼丸,因为咖喱包装了一个冲击力。也就是说,这并没有向我招呼“槟城”小贩,所以只把它当作一种(美味的)小吃。
Like I mentioned, this is a short food sharing and food review. I was there for a quick lunch and only ordered two versions of their nasi lemak. They also offer nasi lemak with butter chicken and maybe you might want to order that too. Mamalee Malaysian Cuisine famous nasi lemak definitely lives up to their reputation and it is a good alternative to the famous Village Park nasi lemak which is located on the same road and down the road. This is not a sponsored review.
Mamalee, the delicious and creative addition to our usual nasi lemak, the price was very reasonable with very big piece of L-shape chicken
Mamalee’s Salted Egg Fried Chicken Nasi Lemak is definitely worth checking out if you’re a big fan of salted egg! Located in Damansara Uptown, Mamalee is a Penang style Nyonya restaurant for casual dining.
I think the food here is alright, albeit priced slightly higher. Pork belly is not exactly great, slightly salty, but decent. My mom claims the assam fish got not enough kick and different from..
♥Verdict: We really like the Assam Pedas and willing to give this place a second chance to try out more of their dishes such as the roasted duck, purple porridge and braised pork belly which are quite attractive to me.
Good quality food, and tasty.
business is usual for most and parking has become somewhat worst at Main Place area.
Lots of people come here for the laksa or cendol.
Cham was very "Gao", but despite requesting for less sweet; it was still delivered as it is which is very sweet.
We will always eat at this place (Nyonya Colors) when we cannot decide on where to eat. Though the food is not as tasty as some other places but it is a safe place to eat as we know what we are getting.
Being a laksa lover, I would definitely not to say NO to asam laksa. The laksa taste was not bad not comparing to Penang Laksa. The laksa gravy is very thick and there is quite much ingridients on it. Taste: 4/5 Price: RM 9.00
Yam Cake. It’s nice.
最让我惊喜的一道菜是这道亚参大虾(Assam Big Prawn),小的一碟RM28 因为吃起来居然带水果的酸甜味,里面加了Assam调出来的酱汁,味道很特别!
The restaurant interior is very exquisite with mahogany furnitures and decorated with priceless antiques and unique decors. Even the lightings are just nice; not too bright or too dim. You cannot help but feel like you’ve stepped into a Baba Nyonya house.
And chinese tea pot, RM 7. Finally we finished 4 dishes, make us full already! Their service are good. My grandma really enjoyed to eat the Nyonya food! Many people inside this restaurant but, we are lucky to get a good seat. :) They not make us waited so long time, until the dishes be ready in short time!
Yum yum, originate from Persiaran Green Hill, Ipoh, Malaysia. Little Yum Yum is thier another branch in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya which was opened on 1st Dec 2910. Little Yum Yum, a truely fusion place for a good experience of South East Asia food
Service was great! You really cant go wrong with most of the dishes here at Yum Yum. All the dishes had big flavours but they completed each other very well.We highly recommend this place.
Nyonya Cendol have 2 locations, one in USJ21 Main Place and this is in USJ1 Summit USJ. Both offers exactly the same menu. I always like a "very fishy" Asam Laksa, nice! fits my taste.
The Penang Asam Laksa RM10.50 is one of our favourite food that we refuse to miss whenever we got the chance to order for a meal. Nyonya Cendol’s Asam Laksa won our heart mainly due to its huge chunks of sardines fishes scattered evenly around the bowl with fine shredded garnishes/spices, quite sour (too many pineapples) compared to normal version but still “Banyak Sedap”! 😉
What makes the Nyonya cendol here so good is that they insist on using fresh ingredients that are prepared daily. But what really sets this cendol a class apart is their santan, it’s extra thick and creamy with the most wonderful aroma.
Lunch Set - Nasi Pandan Rempah Fish - MYR 18.55 nett with a free drink. I like the fresh chili paste on top of the okras because it is not very spicy and it tastes very refreshing.
Conclusion : I, being a big fan of peranakan food, truly give this place high praises as they truly deserved it. Food quality was superb. Portion was acceptable too. But somehow I found the price to be slightly on the high side. A worthy place for fine Peranakan food. Truly acceptable and remarkable. A 4/5.
There is also Portugese Fried Mee which is quite nice. The taste was simply delighting and I can say is a thumb up for this. Taste: 4/5 Price: RM 9.50
What do We Like about Little Cravings, One Utama? -Budget and affordable meal, yet value for money
Kochi Pulut Hitam - strong taste of pulut hitam which I like.
Last but not least, we ordered the Malaysian breakfast which is the kaya butter roti bakar. The bread was thick with the crispy texture of the bread is indeed nice and delighting. The kaya which comes with the bread is also good. Taste: 4/5 Price: RM 3.90
Up next, the meal set Curry Chicken with rice. The meal, comes with Curry Chicken, Sambal sotong and Acar vegetable, serves with white rice, a bowl of soup and end with dessert of your choice. Curry chicken is flavourful coupled with their sambal sotong and acar, you may end up nasi tambah 🙂
Overall, the food was good. There are plentiful of dishes in their menu to try from ikan gulai tumis, sayur paku, sambal udang petai (ooops, i’m repeating myself, means its tempting haha) to kerabu sotong, kerabu ladyfingers (looking forward for this in our next visit).
Generally, food here is a step up from the coffeeshop ‘dai chao’, sizeable portions in comfortable settings. Prices are reasonable and it’s nice enough place for a family dinner, or to bring guests.
This was one of the dishes at Penghulu Seafood. The restaurant specialises in Muslim-friendly Chinese cuisine with 46-year-old chef Wan Yee Kwong helming the kitchen team. Ikan bakar (grilled fish) and steamboat with fresh seafood and premium ingredients are also on the menu.
The dishes looked appetizing. The curry laksa looked spicy but it was quite mild. The gravy was thick but a little oily. Laksa is meant to be oily anyway. There were some chicken, long bean, tau fu pok and eggs in the curry laksa.
The restaurant comes with at least 10-12 "well social distancing" round marble top tables, everything is new, clean, and bright.
What do we like about Tanjung Bunga Nyonya -The variety of set meal -The generous portion of food -The set which came with appetizer, drink and dessert
Saya order tak banyak sangat pun. Dari segi harga, saya rasa agak mahal sebab portion sikit je.
Apart from asam pedas fish (RM 22.90) which I thought had a good seasoning and base but lacking quality fish (dory was used I believe), the other three dishes were on point. Asam prawn (RM 19.90) had a balance of asam & cooking caramel taste to it, two style kailan was as advertised, and the redang chicken (RM 17.90) turned out to be one of our favorites of the night, really good marinate that seems to penetrate the poultry while not being over powering, we would definitely order this dish again.
What do We Like about Little Nyonya, One Utama? -Wide range of Nyonya cuisines in the menu -Assam pedas and pai tee were good
What do We Like about Baba Nyonya House? -The many variety of kuih in their menu
Overall, we rather enjoyed Jessie’s Special ABC although we still prefer Aunty Peggy’s a few doors down. Jessie’s also serves Honey Jelly Shaved Ice and other local drinks such as barley and Kedondong Sour Plum.
The rm$11.50 "奶油石班魚片飯 Butter Grouper Fish Fillet Rice" comes with several large pieces of butter milk flavored Grouper Fish and white rice, the Chef recommended dish was definitely a flavorful house recipe.
USJ20's 娘惹茶餐室 Nyonya Goh offers around 60 dishes of noodles, rice dishes, as well as a few items for 叫菜吃飯 dishes with prices from rm$8.50 - rm$12.
Its Signature offering is the Nyonya Curry Mee and Signature Yin Yong Rice (only available around 9:30am). Other choices are Nasi Lemak, Pasta, Salads, Economy Beehoon, Fish noodle, and even Nyonya BaZhang and Nyonya miced meat. Seems a lot to offer, worth more visits for the Signature recipe and Nyonya dishes.
Perhaps/Maybe the "特色椰酱饭配仁当牛肉 Nasi Lemak Rendang Beef" wasn't exactly Nyonya Baba food (or is it) and really that its also quite spicy, but definitely not that bad.
