I find the usual Chinese curry too runny, not spicy enough and had too much coconut milk for my liking. For me, curry should be thick, spicy and a little sticky.
Very good full-bodied and spicy sweet savoury curry, made up of 4 different curries or sauces, forming a symphony of flavours, such that the flavours of everything else didn’t matter so much anymore.
Fried Pork Chop, Pork Belly, Bean Curd, Fried Egg and Veggies all smothered in a variety of curry and sauce.
For those who’re looking for a final taste of the bak kut teh, be sure to make reservations to secure a seat.
Overall, I have enjoyed the meal at Founder Bak Kut Teh. I like the addition of the new dishes, giving diners a more complete meal experience.
Today, their consistent quality over the years means they still remain a solid place for Bak Kut Teh, albeit with slightly more premium pricing.
If you are looking for a steamboat place that serve delicious soup bases with fresh ingredients, Hai Xian Lao is definitely not to be missed.
Overall, it was a pleasant and fulfilling hot pot meal.
This is actually my third time here (28 Kelantan Road #01-121). But they were closed the first time and sold out the second time, so at least I finally got to eat the food today. And that's after waiting 40 minutes despite getting here at their opening hour.
This briyani meal could be a messy affair, so be sure to head down with friends whom you’re comfortable with.
Cluck Cluck was average at best, as the portions were rather small and the flavours fell a little flat in some dishes.
