Decent and fast service Izakaya Japanese Eating Place in Johor Bahru.
Yaoki is the stalwart of Japanese restaurants in JB. I shall be back to try more things on their extensive menu including their sushi, sashimi, yakitori etc.
因为实在太多人了， 所以只好坐在“BAR台”前面， 就是你去SUSHI KING面对回转寿司的那种单人位， 旁边坐着的是正在享受烧酒的日本人。 一进到店里， 第一感觉是空间蛮大的。 店里的桌椅摆设和布置， 跟日剧里面看到的餐馆很像， 格局也很特别，跟之前去的几家不太一样， 不过空气中带着一点烟味。
I have the desire to try out Kaiseki meal for quite some time. We decided to celebrate Mr Ang’s birthday at Kamii Sushi Japanese Restaurant. Thank the kind waitress, we ordered a set of Kaiseki (RM280). The portion was enough for us. The Kaiseki meal didn’t contain alcohol. Thus, we let baby Chen tried some. He loved the soup. PS: I was too busy enjoying the food and taking care of baby. I forget to take photos of some dishes.
For our family, we love to go for Kamii's set meals. Apart from the standard set meal pricing on their menu, Kamii often offers special set meal at 50% discount price everyday!! Pricing can range from RM12 to RM28 (~SGD4 - SGD10) for a hearty, good authentic Japanese meal.
Overall, the food ingredients and execution were average quality.
This Auspicious Flaming Nabe (RM68.80) is a pot miso and Japanese sake soup with generous ingredients packed in within. With Norwegian Salmon and slices of chicken breast, Shitake mushrooms, leeks and carrots, in a pot serving on flame with a pour of “KaoLiang” Rice Wine and sake stirring in to not only bring out more flavours of this dish but to also some flaming action.
Besides the yee sang, October is also offering two more dishes for the coming CNY. The Fortune Sushi and Sashimi Platter (RM58.80) is beautifully presented in an elevated stand holding six varieties of sushi and three varieties of sashimi. Showcasing classic seafood sashimi such as salmon, tuna, yellowtail, squid, prawn and more, this platter is deliciously exquisite and pretty at sight.
