At Komichi Tea House, a new Japanese cafe tucked away at a quiet corner of Lorong Toh Aka, where Matcha is everywhere and everything. For the uninitiated, Matcha (or known as Japanese Green Tea) is making its name in the food and beverage scene worldwide in recent years; the flavor is more intense than Chinese Green Tea, with a bolder bitter end. Komichi is one specialist when it comes to Matcha, the entire cafe is Matcha-centric. One of the partners' father owns a Tea Farm in Japan and needless to say, the Japanese Green Tea is directly imported from there. The daughter who is know residing in Penang owns a cafe-dream and now, managed to turn the dream into reality. The menu is very Matcha-focused with an array of serious Matcha beverages and some Matcha-infused home-bakes. Nothing spectacular about the interior decor but rather, an unpretentious and earnest place to enjoy a good serving of Matcha delights.

The air-conditioned restaurant is suitable for family gathering or a casual meal, it is popular amongst the white collar workers in the vicinity.

As for the bobatea, they have a variety of the milk tea, fruit tea, cold brew tea, and many more. We have the Hamsup millk tea ( RM 10.90) where the boba milktea is served with the light seasalt in it. I love the milk tea flavours that comes simply aromatic with the hint of saltiness in it. The boba comes simply chewy too. And I love how they packaged the tea overall.
Long Cha Guan's Nasi Lemak seems to be very popular. Served using a bamboo steamer, the Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken set consists of a Rendang Chicken Thigh, sunny side up, Fried Anchovies, home-made Sambal and some crisp Crackers. The Rendang was nicely cooked... beautiful flavors and would spoon over rice perfectly. But the Chicken was slightly overcooked with a dry, hard texture. The Sambal was not too shabby either... with a discernible sweetness. The dish would be perfect if the Chicken was more tender

This dish offers the traits of carbonara, which is a tad creamy and it had the slight briny smoked duck to balance the dish. Whenever you feel like having an extra dose of salt, take the unique parmesan chip and have a small bite of it. It will fill your oral cavity with a pleasant cheese of cheese immediately.
