This place served some of the best dosa/tosai I have ever tasted, albeit more expensive than usual. Onion Rava Dosa (RM 15) is crispy and tasty, with great chutney. Rava Idly (RM 11.50) is pretty..
For something memorable from MTR 1924, you must try their MTR’s Rava Idli. This particular food item was invented by its founder, Yagnanarayana. During World War II when India was hit by the great Bengal famine resulting in the short supply and rationing of rice, Yagnanarayana modified his idlis with semolina flour (rava) to replace the rice idly turning them into a filling and healthy steamed savoury cakes that go down in history.
Masala Dosa was perfect. I liked the crispiness and texture, Yum!! Oh my god “THE GHEE”!! It adds a great flavour to the dosa. Masala Dosa @ RM 8.50
I especially loved their pumpkin parathal. It had the usual sweetness that comes with pumpkin while also spicy. You can eat it on its own or have it with rice, it is delicious either way. Their payasam was da bomb, real delicious. There were tiny bits of wheat – sago lookalike that was chewy and it complimented the thick sweetness of the payasam real well. Yum!
Papdi Chat, 7.90 ringgit. I know it looks weird but it sure taste delicious. Sure was flavorful. It was wet, crunchy, slightly sweet with a tinge of spice. It containes yogurt + chutney + thinly chopped potatoes + crunchy thinly fried dough + spices and several other ingredients that I missed while busy gobbling it up. It was yummy. I liked it. Something different.
