It's a fact that I am seldom impressed with cafe food so when a friend suggested dinner at Columbus Coffee Co; I was hesitant yet didn't want to sound rude. To me, what's the worst that could happen, except to prove my point?
With the experience of both Atlas and Lunar that are success, we are sure Columbus Coffee Co will be another impressive cafe though we also feel that some of the food there are rooms for improvement. Coffee without doubt continues to be excellent.
We were also pretty satisfied with how the dishes tastes while pushing the boundaries of cafe fare with innovative and creative use of ingredients that are well thought out.
The dishes are as delicious as they are pretty. Everything we had was scrumptious.
Definitely prefer the duck confit hash, even though the roasted potatoes tip the scale slightly.
food was consistently good, and i have no doubt that we'll be back soon.
Fish and chips with salted egg York and chili crab sauce! The fish was super soft and tender inside too! Felt that the sauce was pretty redundant. XD anyways this comes with 1 side dish and I chose cheese pasta which is not very tasty.
Overall, Fish & Chicks offers a different take on Western fare at affordable prices.
Their customers are probably coming back to reminisce the familiar taste that used to be a part of their growing up memories.
If you’ll like to have a taste of this, do come and queue early.
Canopy Garden Dining serves good food in a relaxed space in a tranquil park. It is great for a good time with family and friends or for some alone time when you want to contemplate life.
Recommended by 8 Days. The Buah Keluak Chicken Chop was very buah keluak, in a sauce with turmeric, lemongrass, onions and other aromatics. The chicken chop was not bad – bitey with the buah keluak flavours dominating. The aglio olio pasta was slightly spicy and al dente. The wedges were crispy and the achar really piquant and crisp, cutting through the heavy flavours.
The kway teow and noodles were still quite firm, distinct, totally unmushy and a bit too sweet. Since I liked char kway teow which is fried to a mush, soft and all mixed together, this was really not my type of char kway teow, although it was quite popular.
Tian Tian Lai Cooked Food is surely a diamond in the rough that deserves more recognition! Not to mention, I didn’t feel like I was committing caloric sin when digging into their plate of Fried Kway Teow, so that’s a plus point for sure!
Prodigal Roaster serves more than decent coffee that are prepared with lots of love. We hope to see that they will flourish and get a bigger space to offer seats for cafe hopper to chillax in near future.
It is worth mentioning that the exact flavour profile of these beans will be changed every month as Prodigal Roasters is passionate in introducing new flavours to its customers.
Yummy Western is the sort of place that would appeal best to neighbourhood residents.
Good Thyme Bistro is a fantastic, fine find. The food is scrumptious at a great price and the service is considerate.
Though outside of The Ding Ding Man Cafe is a bus stop, however, there is only 1 bus, bus 136. The nearest MRT station, Serangoon, is quite a walk. Overall, ambience and coffee were positive.
This stall has an interesting name. "Ang Mo" is a local slang describing the Westerner, mainly in Singapore. It literally means "red-haired" and it originates from Hokkien. And so, "Ang Mo Food" actually means Western food which this stall is serving, including different types of rice bowls. There are Chicken Chop Rice Bowl ($4.90), Salmon Rice Bowl ($6.90) and Beef Rice Bowl ($6.90) with the option to top up $1 for mushroom soup.
Chops! XXL Platter is indeed very value-for-money and the quality of food is very decent.
Eighteen Chefs strives to provide their customers with good quality food at an affordable price that is freshly prepared and also fast every time, it is indicated as their philosophy on their website. Their menu has a great variety of food choices, from pasta dishes to the usual western fare.
They are famous for their waffles and handmade ice-cream, and this particular outlet is also known for its exclusive Yuan Yang Waffle ($15) which consists half of Charcoal waffle and other half is Belgian classic waffle with soft-serve ice-cream and hazelnut sauce.
The Waffle Purple Sweet Potato With Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream (SGD $13) is a signature dessert here. Made completely with purple sweet potato, which lends a vibrant, purple coloured hue, the waffle has a soft, fluffy texture, tearing apart easily, and a mild earthy sweet flavour.
The food over there was good but not for their dessert. Maybe their normal waffle is good but their sweet potato is definitely a NO. The amtosphere there was noisy and crowed. Not a suitable place to chill and stay for long.
