If you're craving juicy yet good quality steaks, then this no-frills place for meat, cooked the Japanese way with simply just salt and black pepper, is definitely worth a visit. Although I won't go as far as to say that the steaks here are cheap since some of the wagyu beef can go as high as RM200, you can still find some very reasonably-priced and affordable Australian beef cuts for around RM25. So, go with what you think is within your budget. Besides a meat fest, there are plenty more food options here (like sushi, sashimi, tempura and bento) though I'll be more tempted by the lust of gorgeous meat more than anything else if I'm here again!
Isetan The Japan Store may appear like an expensive and posh shopping mall, but the Japanese food kiosks at the LG floor’s The Market are surprisingly affordable. If you are hankering for a juicy steak cooked Japanese way, you should definitely check out Tamaruya Meat Master.
Tamaruya is a meat tasting bar, whereby customers can choose from a range of meat on offer (beef, chicken, lamb), pay and then the chef will cook it for you. We picked a piece of Australian Wagyu sirloin (RM39.90 per 100g), approximately 260g and the marbling on the meat was excellent for the price paid. We paid RM104.50 for the Wagyu and another RM10 cooking charge, which I think is reasonable.
