Super favorite was this Black Vinegar Pork Trotter - the sourness that comes with slight sweetness gave a really good kick to my senses once I sipped the soup. Each sip had me thinking, its sour, but its so good. Not a fan of fatty meat, but I sure know its a good source of collagen. Take it anyhow.
The food is also quite affordable. As this was a treat from our friends, I am not too sure about the prices of each dish.
With such split results, this one is a difficult one to call. I’d say this place warrants a repeat visit once in a while; they do serve some truly standout dishes. Just come armed with an umbrella next time, and be prepared to pay what you expect.
Randy & Sara has been raving about this place for some time now. Since we’ve not met up since the last outing at Reunion Bangsar, a weekend lunch was arranged. We left home early in order to avoid the lunch crowd as seemingly, this place is often crowded, always packed and you really have to be there early, else risk missing out on the good stuffs, or waiting relentlessly for a seat as this place can accommodate at most, 12 or so tables of patrons.
It is funny that I am actually recommending the stewed fish and roast pork more, instead of the char siew and fish head curry that Ho Chak featured. But in any case you are looking for a reasonable priced restaurant with not too shabby food then Home Cooking restaurant is worth considering. To get here, the easiest way is to use the Indian temple at Sungai Way as the landmark. Home Cooking restaurant is only a short walk away from the temple, same row as Ah Sang Bak Kut Teh, further down on the right.
