Lunch for 2 pax at Wonton Pho at Jalan Lazat 2, Happy Garden/OUG Garden. Beef Pho at MYR 15.90 nett and spring roll (Goi Cuon) at MYR 8.50 nett.
I ordered stew beef noodle (soup) at MYR 16.90 nett. The soup has a strong star anise taste which I like. There are many pieces of beef and a lot of noodles so I had difficulty finishing it.
Marinated pork belly with rice at MYR 17.90 nett. It looks like braised pork that I am used to eating but it tastes different as it does not have the star anise taste. But it still is tasty as I like the hard boiled egg in this dish.
New item on the menu at Wonton Pho, Happy Garden - Beef stew rice at MYR 16.90 nett. The beef stew is on the sweet side.
We were at Wonton & Pho and ordered our usual beef pho and char siew wonton noodle (no photos). This time I tried the Goi Cuon (spring roll) at MYR7.80 nett with a peanut dip.
We visited Wonton & Pho again for lunch during one weekend. The beef pho is still as tasty as before at MYR12.90 nett. We also ordered a glass of hot tea at MYR2.50 nett.
Wonton & Pho is located on Jalan Lazat 2 near Happy Garden or OUG Garden (same row with Bacon & Balls). Many of the old shop lots here have been converted to stylish eateries. I will try them out one by one and of course their food prices are higher than the prices charged by old coffee shops in this old neighbourhood but then we are paying for the ambiance.
Vietnamese food and Chinese delights, if you loved both but can’t decide which one to have when reaching lunch and dinner hours, visit Wonton & Pho at Happy Garden, Petaling Jaya. This newly opened restaurant serves the best of both world, great in taste, reasonable in price.
