Kimchi Cheese Croissant @ RM 26 Taste is pretty spot on, yet unique that have its own taste feature. Freshness of parsley do give it a slight much crips yet sour bitter after taste as you bite on the buttery bread. Very interesting. It is a dish that worth to order to check it out. Remember to squeeze on the lime.

Antipodean Cafe takes its very soul from the cafes that have gone before it, not only in the Antipodes, but also in Europe. The goal is to create a meeting place, a central spot where expatriates and locals can meet, chat, gossip, romance and chill out over a cup of excellent coffee and a place of good tucker. Other than providing a great cafe experience, we took it upon us to ensure the cafe culture will continue to flourish with the times.

It can be a hard thing to find a slice of quiet, relaxed ambience, combined with quality, contemporary European cuisine near the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Even scarcer in the city are European dishes, whose ingredients are sourced locally as part of a farm-to-fork concept. This is exactly what Roost, nestled away amidst the bustle of Bangsar, offers. A neat, refined and remarkably fresh look into the goodness of local ingredients, elevated to pleasant heights by Danish head chef Albert Frantzen and his team.

The meaning behind the word "Roost" is a place where birds regularly settle or congregate to rest at night. Minimalist and rustic interior design which makes you feel at ease as you savour their modern European cuisine. To ensure that they only give their best to the patrons, Roost adopts a farm-to-fork initiative.

Likes: Fresh broth, lots of great varieties for steam boat (sliced pork, beef, meat balls of all kinds, plenty of vegetable selections). The most important that they aced is the freshness of the food - I believe it's due to the high turnover rate so food is actually very fresh here. Dislikes: The slack side is they have great sauces but not available every time. When they are busy they won't prepare fried garlic for customers (what kind of logic is that...). And the be honest their service is not the best despite charging high prices for their food. They tend to hurry you to finish up your food because there are customers waiting. I couldn't be bothered because they should plan their reservations well and not shoo-ing your customers off... Your customers are entitled to enjoy their food, as this is not a mamak stall... It's a love hate thing for this place - I love it but their service makes me think twice.

La Cave Restaurant

7, Jalan Telawi 5 Bangsar Baru 59100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

La Cave was the idea of two rugby mates, Donnie Maclary and Flo Raymond. They both share a passion for quality wine and love of socialising. Naturally, they wanted to try and share these passions with everyone in Kuala Lumpur. Our mission is to source the very best of wines and spirits from around the world, both Old and New World, and to offer our customers a wide selection of fine alcohols to choose from, previously unavailable in Asia. For the true connoisseur, wine isn’t just wine. It is much more than that. At La Cave, we understand this. It is the guiding principle behind our careful portfolio of wineries. Others will aspire towards it but it is, we believe, what makes our wines truly unique. If you are living in Malaysia or just visiting Kuala Lumpur, La Cave is here to act as your home away from home. As soon as you open our doors you will feel as if you are walking into a local wine bar in any European city. Whether you would like to enjoy a glass of fine wine, mug of imported beer or favourite spirit we have something for everyone.

Reasons to visit: We highly recommend ordering the grass fed Australian steaks, cooked rare to medium. They are simply delicious! The Spicy Mussels, the Soups, the Tiramisu and a really good wine list all make a trip to Maria’s worthwhile.

Rusuk masak kicap (RM60) - one of our favourite dishs here at Shelley Yu's! Beef short ribs are first marinated for 48 hours and then slow cooked in soy and spices for hours until fork tender and falling off the bone.

Likes: Comfortable place but... Dislikes: Food is not great, expensive and small portion. This place is only selling the concept...

If I have to pick a favorite on the brunch menu, it would have to be the Smokin’ Seaside Scones (RM28). The dish takes the much beloved eggs benedict version and jazzed it up to such a scrumptious and creative dish. Featuring two house made crumbly and moist onion scones served with perfectly two poached eggs, smoked tuna, smoked snowfish, rocket leaves and finished with a generous lashing of hollandaise sauce.

Overall review: The Daily Grind may not be the first one to join KL brunch-hype, but definitely worth trying. Smokin’ Seaside Onion Scones, Waffle & Chicken and Napoleon & Churchill are our big favourite. Price wise, it is much cheaper than we expected, considering the portion, ingredients used as well as location.

Inside Scoop - Bangsar Baru Restaurant

9, Jalan Telawi 3 Bangsar Baru 59100 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Inside Scoop started churning ice cream in 2013, in a cosy store in Bangsar. Noticing a gap in the premium ice cream market where it was predominantly served by international chains, we set out to make great ice cream that is inspired by our Malaysian taste buds, eating experiences (which is a fair bit!) and current trends. We opened our doors with 16 flavours, but we are constantly testing out new ice cream flavours and we now have way more than 31 flavours (actually more than 70!) on rotation. At Inside Scoop, only the best ingredients goes into our ice cream. The fresh milk that we use is churned into ice cream within a couple of days of the cows being milked, our durians are carefully sourced from Raub (yes – going on durian eating trips is actually part of the job!), our tea is from Cameron Highlands, and our traditionally made gula melaka comes from Melaka.

After having a waffle at the Owl's Cafe, we went to try a waffle at a popular ice cream parlour which has many outlets all over the Klang Valley. The waffle is light and crispy. I tried a few ice cream flavours and found them to be too sweet so I chose Valrhona Chocolate (French chocolate) ice cream because the strong chocolate taste makes the ice cream feels less sweet on the tongue. This premium ice cream choice requires a top-up of MYR 1.90 nett to the price for a standard single scoop of ice cream with waffle at MYR 14.50 nett (before top-up).

这里的环境还蛮适合拍照的, 还有一个小小的亲子空间, 只是有一点不好的就是, 这里的位置有点太拥挤了, 每个餐桌间隔的距离有点小

Norwegian Bagel (RM 26) gets all the limelight the moment I sink my teeth into smoked salmon sandwiched between a toasted poppy seed bagel, nicely flavoured with a spread of zesty cream cheese, accompanied with pickled cucumber and red radish.

Some call our original outlet the birth of a lifestyle revolution. Either way, it's justifiably famous for its casual chic, glorious cakes, and superb Asian dishes made with the finest ingredients. Kick back with a glass of wine and the perfect bowl of pasta, and strike up a friendship with the people at the next table....

The meringue was delicious too. I love the sweet taste from meringue contrast well with the sourness from the fresh strawberry. Yum!! Great combo for the coffee.
