The reviews I read on their Facebook Page seem pretty mixed of late with complaints of either the long wait for a table, the service or they didn't fancy the type of food served. As far as the food was concerned, I had no complaints on the two we tried that morning. Not only did it taste good, it was beautifully plated as well. In fact, their version of french toast is the best version I've had so far. I actually liked that their menu is a bit more creative than the usual cafe food we get elsewhere but if you're looking for some variation of a big breakfast, you won't find it here. So, patrons looking for the standard breakfast fare of bacon, ham, sausages and eggs done any way, let me forewarn you that you might be up for some disappointment. Our half an hour wait, during peak brunch hours on a public holiday, was more than acceptable for a place like this with so much awareness. Due to the crowd, even the owner cum chef helped cleared tables and served us, so I'm pleased with the service. When we left a little over an hour later, there was still a perpetual queue (but none at the other eateries). So, what does that tell you about its popularity...or their food? ;) Personally, I would return in a heartbeat. I would so love to try more of their food...and eat that french toast again! ^o^

Next, we had a dish from the Grill menu; It is the Cuisse de poulet grille fromagerie (RM36.00) - a grilled chicken chop which is served with slow-cooked capsicums and topped with a piece of Goat Cheese with Honey and coarse black pepper. The result is you get a sweet taste from the honey and when eaten with the savoury cheese will intrigue your tastebud. This dish is a hate it or like it dish. For me, I personally find it a very interesting combination of taste.

I already love anything with smoked ducks, but this is the best I’ve tasted so far! Meat is tender, perfectly cooked and glazed with the sweet sherry reduction. It’s so damn good. Meaty and sweet, but not overly sweet. Highly recommended!

Reasons to visit this seafood restaurant in Bangsar: Occasions looking for “Best on the Best” should go no further than the pairing of oysters with caviar and the promise of champagne. More modest occasions will celebrate the sustainability focus of wild-caught fish. Occasions looking for greater value will appreciate the bottomless bowls of laksa mussels with terrific bursts of lemongrass.

What determines a good pizza can be really subjective but I find myself growing fond of light crust and rich fresh toppings, and Proof Pizza and Wine at APW, Bangsar happens to fit into most of the things I seek in a pizza dining experience. Cosy yet lively, the tiny space accommodates no more than an estimation of 35pax at a time so reservation is very highly recommended. This popiah wrapper (skin) is very similar to a pancake or crepe because it is doughy, soft and much thicker than the usual thin popiah skin. My friend cannot get used to it and so she removed the skin from 3 segments and left them uneaten. I finished my popiah because I like to eat doughy pancakes. The jicama is cooked with fermented soybeans paste (taucu) as I found some fermented soybeans in the roll. I am ok with this popiah but will not order it again because I don't like the jicama that is too soggy.

Our Lobster Biryani @ RM280 was served in a large steel pot, sealed with pastry dough which locks up the flavours while cooking. This dish was so massive the staff had to use a trolley to send the large steel pot over to your table. Taste wise we thought it was simply delicious and imparted a unique sweetness which can’t be replaced with Chicken, Mutton or Lamb. This hint of sweetness which came from the Lobster helped elevate the dish to a different level compared to other biryanis. The lobster by itself was fresh and succulent and had that delicious tender bite.

Naj Big Breakfast, 35 ringgit. This was delicious. You would get a generous amount of scrambled egg (comes in 3 options: scrambled, fried or poached) + mushrooms + beef bacon + chicken sausage + spinach + baked tomato + potato + a slice of sourdough. Had my very first Banana Leaf rice with hubby at Restoran Sri Nirwana Maju! I remembered my dad used to bring us family out for banana leaf rice at Taiping when we were younger. But, we were too young for banana leaf rice since the portion was huge and it had lots of curry and chili involved, so we basically just watched him eat lol. And then until last week, I suddenly had a crave for banana leaf rice and I don't know why. So, I went online and did some research about the best banana leaf restaurant in town. It came out with a list of restaurants and I picked Sri Nirwana Maju since it has lots of good reviews and also it's because I saw my ex-boss brought his wife to this restaurant for banana leaf rice as well. Okay, I trusted his taste, so Hubby and I just went for it.

WTF - What Tasty Food Restaurant

98,Lorong Maarof Bangsar 59100 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

WTF Restaurants came about from a very old dream – a dream and brainchild of three partners who talked about opening a vegetarian restaurant at every dinner party for the past 15 odd years. Being born in vegetarian families and having lived in Malaysia most of their lives, they had a lot of trouble explaining ‘vegetarian’ when dining out. Their choices were minimal, that too with a whole lot of explanation of what chefs can and cannot put in their food. They would often find eggs, seafood and many other not-vegetarian ingredients in their food and often had to resort to good ol’ Maggie when they got home.

Premium Chai Latte (RM14) This almond milk chai latte has got to be THE BEST CHAI LATTE in KL, and that's a bold claim. Unlike the usual almond milk you get in the market, their almond milk is thick and creamy and doesn't get separated or sedimented if left for a while. They retain their thick and creamy texture throughout the serving and I was really impressed. As for the chai, there was no other way to describe it other than being utterly flavourful. And it is not for no reasons as they were incredibly generous with their spices, and the perfect blend of different spices created an impeccable aroma that puts all other chai lattes to shame! If there's one thing you must try from this cafe, make it this one!

Nasi Dagang, 12 ringgit + Ayam Rempah (3 pieces) + Sambal Terung, 3 ringgit. This was yummy. The rice was awesome, the Devils Curry was thick and nice, Ayam Berempah was meaty and crunchy. Overall, a good attempt at Nasi Dagang Kelantanese style. Good to know that we can now have Eastern inspired cuisine nearby.

This quiet rooftop cafe, also another one of Bangsar’s hole in the wall has been operating under the radar for a while now. Serving warung like home cooked dishes, Makan at The Basikal is one of the coolest hangout places with steeped stairways through a back alleyway with unknown drips and cars parked recklessly. Actually worth lingering in, you’d be real surprise with what you see once arriving at the highest level where the little open kitchen and comfortable benches are.

Ice Latte, 12 ringgit. Drinks were good. I especially liked their Ice Latte. I liked it a whole lot that I ended up ordering it twice. It was thick, milky and the taste of coffee was evident, ‘kaw kaw’
