Poached Hor Fun with Fish. – RM7/- This dish is very similar to the Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun found in all Tim Sum Place, Basically Hor Fun and Fish Slices poached and topped with soya sauce. Quite enjoyable by itself
Basically food is self serve, with on occasion visitation by a server carrying a tray of a single type of Tim Sum. What available here are similar in terms of verity and taste with HQ, however with subtle difference.
Braised Duck Meat, believe the duck meat must be braised for long as it fully absorb the sauce flavor and the bone easily fall of from bone, it is so soft and delicious.
Overall, Restoran Chaw Choon is a great place for dim sum. There are quite a varieties of dim sum and they taste better than your average dim sum shop. The restaurant is usually crowded even on a weekday.
They serve a wide variety of good dim sum with reasonable prices. They only open in the morning and it will be very crowded during weekends and public holidays.
The service is fast and the people here are friendly. My son loves the Char Siew so much that he ate 3 plates. We also ordered other dim sum fare such as har mai, siew mai, pork ribs, har kin, fishball, fried chee chong fun, fried carrot cake and a plate of ngar choi pak cham kai (steam chicken with beansprout). The dim sum portion is generous and the ingredients used are fresh.
