Oh man, let me tell you about my faves from the menu! First, there's the emperor chicken with herbs - it's so tender and packed with flavor, you won't be able to get enough.
Ambience at Goldleaf Restaurant is modern and functional. The brightly lit place with ample natural light is minimally decorated, with modern furnishings lined neatly within the spacious seating area.
If you have not made any arrangements for the upcoming Mother’s Day, get in touch with Goldleaf. Other set menus are also available. Cheers!!
The chicken is tender, the rice fluffy and the chili makes it taste even nicer.
In my honest opinion, I find that it's not worth the wait and there are many other places that provide tastier braised duck as well as Kway Chap.
Dunman Food Centre is one of the smallest hawker centres in Singapore. Its size just make the quest for good food easy in this two storey food centre located at the junction of Dunman Road and Onan Road.
They were listed in the straits times and misstamchiak, so I was a little disappointed. In 2014, they also won the Singapore Hawker Masters for Indian mee goreng. Their standards have most likely deteriorated.
The gravy was creamy, lux and full of bite. So enjoyable to scoop up.
I usually low carbs/no carbs. this i enjoyed and finished everything today.
The cream puff looks different – very regularly shaped. The place looks different. Just like any other old school cafe now. Coffee and cream puff taste good though.
CMC or Chin Mee Chin Confectionery along East Coast Road is an iconic coffeeshop for kaya toast and coffee and other treats.
Have you missed the nostalgic kaya toasts and bakes from Chin Mee Chin? They’ve reopened at their OG spot along East Coast Road! Read more.
A charming slice of France in Joo Chiat. Braseiro seems relatively under the radar when it comes to steak frites in Singapore and that makes up part of its charm. Head here for a cosy and affordable steak meal, and the service is very hospitable too.

places like Uno Beef House are bargains that I enjoy exploring. But I was (foolishly) expecting something completely different for this special occasion, and yet we still paid quite a bit in the end. At least the fries were half-decent.
Really nice chocolate Pain Au Chocolate – layery, flaky, delicate, fully and buttery. The Canele was moist and spongy too.
Petit Pain, a popular small batch Bakery in Joo Chiat, and Japanese style bakery Kamome @ Joo Chiat offer delectable healthy bread.
Petit Pain makes delicious pastries that are affordable for everyone without compromising quality and tradition.
As the in-house Chinese restaurant dining option of the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy hotel, Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant has been delighting diners since April 2013. Serving quality modern Chinese dishes made with fresh ingredients, Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant is an under-the-radar dining destination for exquisite and well-executed comfort food.
Chinese executive chef of Jiawei, Victor Lee, has come up with new dishes after being inspired to support local food production. You can savour these new additions at Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant, located at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, from 15 April 2022.
I would still recommend here for family dinner and group gatherings as the food here is worth the price in terms of quality and portion.
It took me quite long to finally try Da Dong, and no regrets at all. The dry prawn noodles is a clear winner for me.
Da Dong Prawn Noodles dishes out one of the better prawn noodles I’ve tasted in Singapore.
The pricing for the prawn mee is bound to raise some eyebrows at 13 - 20 SGD, a price range beyond the norms of what is expected of hawker food pricing.
Can’t call it Joe’s anymore – Sin Hoi Sai Eating House it is from now on
Sin Hoi Eating House @ East Coast Road is a favourite of the Kennett’s - amazing food on East Coast. It’s family, it’s so reasonable, it’s delicious.

It’s no secret I relied heavily on Google reviews nowadays and when I found out that there’s a Taiwanese restaurant, Isshin Machi (no, not ...
Isshin Machi 一心一町 has an outlet at greenwood avenue which is in the Bukit Timah area. I know they have another outlet at GRID but so glad I can go here for lunch.
I always need to try the Lu Rou Fun and theirs is smooth, not too fatty and enough sauce to cover the rice nicely. Very tasty.
Baba Chews Bar & Eatery at Hotel Indigo Katong Singapore celebrates Christmas with exquisite gourmet dishes with familiar local ingredients.
OCBC Card 1 for 1 Mains Takeaway deal is good opportunity to try Baba Chews’ interesting Mod-Sin mains - such as Rendang Lasagne & Chilli Crab’ Tagliatelle.
Traditional might be good, but a modern take on it can be just as pleasing, if not better.
Locals in the know like to eat at Katong Square because it has varied and interesting F&B options, is relatively quiet and has convenient parking facilities. Enticing offerings of restaurants and cafes in Katong Square range from local kopi and branded espresso to Thai porridge and Peranakan pulled pork burger.

Rooms at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is aging but functional. I stayed at the Studio Suite, which had warm earthy tones, low lighting, a marble tiled bathroom, and a carpeted living room. Said to have a "chic minimalist zen" vibe, I didn't quite feel it, although I still decently enjoyed the experience.

As I said, I would highly recommend getting Executive Lounge / Club Lounge access whenever you are on staycation, then you can just stay in the hotel all day!
We love the vibe of East Coast Commune and we will definitely be back soon!
Chic and botanic looking cafe beside East Coast McDonald’s. Nice strong and woody latte.
It is a family friendly cafe but can also be an ideal place for the solo diner and dating couples. It is chic and charming and can appeal to both the hip and hippie.
The fillings were generous and stuffed to the brim. The deep-fried Tau Kwa smell was aromatic and the fillings included chopped fishcakes, braised eggs, fried yam and cucumber. The cucumber gave an excellent refreshing taste to the palettes, and the fried bits were a bit salty.
A good eating experience for sure. I have never had it before, so there is definitely a newness factor for me which I love because I love discovering new items to my palate!
When you are here, you must get their fish balls and tau kwa pau (of course).
One of the popular Old School Rojak Flavours if you are searching for.
Lau Hong Ser Rojak is definitely one of the best rojak stalls around and they are certainly deserving of the loyal band of customers they have. I’d 100% return again not just to show my support for Mr Lim, but to get my hands on his 10/10 rojak!
With explosive flavours, affordable prices and long history, Lau Hong Ser Rojak surely ranks high among the best rojak stalls in Singapore.
Kings Cart Joo Chiat is the place to go if you are tired of the usual espresso, cappuccino and pour-over coffees. How about Sng Buey coffee, Salted Caramel and Coconut Affogato for a change?
Well, they are new and I look forward to see them grow further into a better café with positive vision.
Food at King's Cart Coffee Factory is modern European, with a dash of local Singaporean influence. While the menu is rather small, dishes are hearty and tasty, with straightfoward but pleasing flavour combinations.
BOP is interesting as their flavours were inspired by nature.
I would definitely suggest getting their aromatic thyme cones with flavours such as Seasalt Houjicha, White Chrysanthemum, Earl Grey Lemongrass, Lychee Raspberry and Basil.
Overall flavour profile of earthy herbal sweet, and balanced in taste. Good!
Beach Road Prawn Noodle House 美芝律大虾面 is one of the most famous hae mee shops in Singapore. We went to have prawn mee lunch at East Coast Road recently in 2022 to see how things have changed since our last post in 2015.
I have not been to Beach Road Prawn Mee on East Coast Rd in such a long time. When I first came to Singapore in 2006, it was one of the first places that was introduced to me. It has to be at least 8 years since I have been here.
Beach Road Prawn Mee serves up an amazing bowl of prawn noodles – the broth was robust, the prawns were crunchy, and the pork ribs were super tender.
