The pho soup was very flavorful, with lime juice squeeze into soup, it brought more flavor out from the soup. Very appetizing and can’t stop drinking it with the rice noodle. Didn’t feel thirsty after the meal (hear say indicator whether excessive MSG was used 🙂 ). The beef slices were tender even though it were well done.

Sauteed Sliced Lamb with lemongrass, onions & crispy spring roll RM18.90 The lamb was really nicely sauteed, it was fragrant and flavourful without overpowering the natural flavour of the lamb, but still keeping the natural flavour at a minimum, so the overall olfactory experience was above satisfactory.

Banana Fritters, 11 ringgit. I started of with some yummy banana fritters. This was yummy. Crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft, moist on the inside. It had just the right amount of sweetness. Loved it. It certainly would make an awesome dish for tea time.

Lamb Fried Rice with Curried Marrow Bones, 36 ringgit. Ooooooo Yessssss ! Still as delicious, mouth wateringly delicious. It still gets my tongue wagging. You’d get a plate of flavorful, spiced Basmati rice with cashews, fried garlic and onions, generous portions of chewy mini pieces of lamb meat scattered all over with papadoms and gravy filled bone marrow and some yogurt + shallots on the side. This is sooo worth giving a go. Each spoonful of this fried rice was soooo yummy, I just couldnt stop. I ate and ate and literally left the place squeky clean, spotless. It was everything I ever wanted when I am imagining kambing fried rice. Certainly coming back for more.

In the list, I decided to order the weird one which is Onde Onde Coissant Doughnut. It is a bit unique where it had a slight chewy texture as the filling base and the coissant is slightly crips outside. Not too bad though.

Tuesday, 29 November 2016 Thursdvys @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail My morning class was cancelled, SO GOOOD!!! The lazy us decided to have tasty breakfast before our afternoon class. We choose Thursdvys as it is located along our way to college. Thursdvys is located at TTDI, Kuala Lumpur (Next to Torii). We were greeted upon entering and the staff seated us in the 2pax table. Once seated, she gave us the menu to browse through. You have to order and pay at the counter. I ordered Babas Breakfast Set and Aglio Olio Pasta. A couple of people occupied the cafe when we arrived at 12pm but it was filling up for lunch. The ambiance of the cafe was good, bright and welcoming. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas for the customer. Breakfast set is served with complimentary coffee/ tea. Flat White was milky and velvety, it's like drinking a milk coffee. Yummy!! Aglio Olio Pasta was super duper yummy. A lovely combination of fresh garlic, shallots, parsley, capsicum, beef bacon, prawns tossed in olive oil. A simple yet delicious dish. Breakfast set is served with Scramble Egg, Beef Bacon, Toast, Sautéed Mushroom, Hash Brown, Tomato and Beans. The scramble egg was creamy and fluffy, beef bacon was good and the mushroom was fresh and flavourful. For me, everything in the place was perfect. Breakfast set @ RM 26 Overall, it was a perfect breakfast for us. Super delicious foods, pleasant service and lovely environment. What can I ask for more? It's just perfect for me. Second visit? A BIG YES for me!!

Thursdvys is one of a earlier joint cafe that make a good hit to then neighborhood. I visited this place last year. Pretty cool place to hang out as it feels like a celebrity joint where you can see quite number of high profile cafe hoppers. I guess, maybe during when I was there at the right timing.

Grilled Pesto Chicken Sandwich, 18 ringgit The sandwich was delicious and I don’t know if you noticed – it was huge, yawwww. Literally a case of “I can eat half now and the rest later” situation. Basically, you’d get a large piece of Ciabatta bread with pesto + grilled chicken + tomatoes + cheese. It was surprisingly delicious. Why surprising? because simply judging from the size of the bread to filling ratio, it did not seem to match. However, upon tasting it, it tasted awesome. You’d be able to taste the pesto and grilled chicken just fine despite the thickness of the bread.

While doing my nasi lemak eating rounds, I came to know about the nasi lemak wrap by Goodness Greens TTDI. I was intrigued and had wanted to try it ASAP but I got distracted by work and trips. Well, last week I finally sank my teeth into one and boy, the wrap was delicious! On the plus side, it was filling (it was 2 meals for me!) for the price and healthy too. Just remember to go easy on the sambal since that’s where most of the oil comes from.

Big Breakfast @ RM 26 – Two eggs used are kampung eggs (sunny side up/ scramble/ soft boiled) Grilled chicken sausage, grilled tofu, roasted baby potatoes, sauteed trio myshrooms, (shiitake, white buttons, eryngii) with high fibre bread butter served with mini salad. Both of these are just simple and great to pair with their juices.

The Papperdelle Umami XL (RM38.00) on the other hand, had a whole load of fantastic flavors. Pardon me, I'm raving about black truffles again. The papperdelle had perfect folds - not too chewy; not too thick, with a good sprinkle of salted kombu (or known as kelp - I googled). This dish may look simple, with just a handful of ingredients, but the execution - the tiny details, shined in this dish.

[Main]- Australian grass-fed rib eye steak au poivre (280-300gms) (RM 120.00) An Australian grass-fed rib eye steak with roasted celeriac cream, buttered kale. To me, this dish is just "so-so", no Wow factor. Maybe an aged Wagyu can impress me. The size is just right for two pax, but if you are a bodybuilder, the portion is awesome for your gains.

For the final snack, I had the Porky Platter (Rm25.80). This dish consist of sliders with luncheon meat and char grilled pork, sticky ribs and roast pork. For someone who want to sample four different type of pork, this is for you. I enjoyed the sticky ribs and roast pork the most. Although the roast pork skin is not super crispy but I think it is passable for my own standard.

[Halal] Our friend raved about the Chipotle Grilled Cheese Toast (RM22) here and we had to agree. Gooey cheese slapped between two sourdough slices is super satisfying comfort food. The sourdough is toasted perfectly to yield crusty sides with a nice, soft and warm middle.

Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwich with Fries, 28 ringgit If you are a fan of pesto like I am, you’d fall in love with this dish. The sourdough bread (made in house) had a crispy outer layer and yet, buttery and warm on the inside. It was somewhat green in color, which I assume to be because they infused some pesto into it? Besides the bread and the pesto in it, there was a generous portion/layer of pesto with mozzarella cheese + sun dried tomatoes and grilled chicken pieces. Biting into it was simply heaven. Seriously. Lots of pesto, lots of cheese – those two are my favorites. Add in some chicken and I am sold.

The Ayam Dada Bakar, 7 ringgit was awesome. It came in two options – goreng or bakar, we opted for the healthier version, bakar. The chicken meat was surprisingly soft and tender. It literally falls of the bone. Imagine having it with some sambal and rice? Damn, it got my tummy excited again.

My friend recommended Mushroom Ularthiyathu at MYR 19.80 nett and it was delicious! All dishes are slightly spicy and very tasty with the various fragrant spices used to cook them.
