I don't think anyone is going to want to come near me now, but I'm happy to eat here again.
I don't think it was really forty cloves, but it was a lot, and they were delightfully soft, going nicely with the deliciously salty chicken.
Cosying up in the cast iron casserole with some salad are their meaty frog legs - sautéed with garlic, onions and parsley. These aren't seasonal. I remember seeing them all the time on the menu. They're pretty good.
The summertime specials include sautéed wild girolle mushrooms. Or also commonly known in these parts as chanterelle. Meaty and mushroomy, these were priced dearly. But good they were.
Le Bistrot Du Sommelier has always been a dependable venue for French food.
They are one of the most ideal vehicles to deliver the rillettes and cheeses into your mouth and satiate your whetted appetite.
Overall Le Bistrot du Sommelier seem to have dropped a little in terms of my expectations, but do go for their duck rilette, beef onglet and poached pear for the complete quality meal. They are also offering a 3-course "TGV lunch" set for $35++ (menu here) that is good value for money!
Many may know Bistrot Du Sommelier for its selection of fine French wines, but equally impressive are the plates that come out of its kitchens. With a rotating seasonal menu, opportunities abound to sample the freshest flavours available.
