Back again. Really tasty and well made foe coffeeshop dim sum.
Really nice deep fried taro dumpling, shatteringly crispy and crackling outside, yammy and soft inside with a nicely marinated fried shrimp, mushroom and chicken meat filling. Everything else looks nice too – worth a try again for their other offerings.
In a nutshell, there were some misses but the prices shall be the main motivation factor as I only paid about S$42, plus the fact I am literally just minutes' away from home. I would know what to avoid in my next visit; definitely no har gow. And the twin brothers should consider improving their ordering system!
A pair of twin brothers quit their dim sum chef job to serve handmade dim sum in Yishun kopitiam. Must try their BBQ Pork Bun!
Recommended by Johor Kaki. This was the Yishun branch co-located with Old World Bak Kut Teh, rather than the original branch at Tanglin Halt which had already closed down. The noodles were really Malaysian-style savoury and lardy, oily and tasty stuff. The pork soup was really tasty, porky and slightly peppery as well, a bit like bak kut teh and pig organ soup, but without the gaminess. The minced meat and meatballs were fresh and slightly springy and tender. Nice.
They have 12 kinds of fried rice, 6 kinds of side dishes, and 5 toppings you can add to your fried rice.
Hallelujah, there’s scissors cut Hainanese curry rice in the north! Head up to Yishun Ave 5 for a plate of deliciousness. Read more.
