This well-priced 8-course CNY menu is not without flaws–some dishes are similar and could have done with more varied styles of cooking–but, besides the last two dishes, the food is delectable and original and fun. My family enjoyed the meal.
Mimi Restaurant in Clark Quay is not like your typical Chinese restaurant. The upper floor dining hall is a stylish contemporary space in a historical building. The menu is interesting and prices are reasonable.
The Soon Hock was done perfectly. Tender, juicy with a gentle squeakiness to the bite.
I enjoyed every dish, particularly memorable were the mala carrot cake, bak kut teh, beef lionhead, and chili crab.
Overall, lunch at Mimi did not have a strong ending but the mains were very good. The weekday lunch set was good value for the quality and quantity of the main dishes offered in a very pleasant and comfortable space. Mimi Restaurant is a secret we do not mind sharing and we are looking forward to discovering more tantalizing morsels it has to offer.
Overall I was not impressed with the food at Mimi.
Prices are reasonable by Clarke Quay standards as competition here is really stiff.
