This is the sumibiyaki ribeye (300g). The menu says it is grilled over charcoal and seasoned with special mixed sauced, served with chef’s selected sauce. Very vague description but luckily it turned out better than anticipated. If I were to describe it I would say it’s served with a side of garlic crisps, sea salt, dried chili flakes and chef’s special sauce (which tasted like mustard to me). The meat went well with the salt and dried chili flakes but it’s not tender enough. Is it because it’s Australian and not Wagyu? That shouldn’t be the case in any matter.
The cake was very sinful and pure bliss. The high price is probably because they need to layer the strawberries (an expensive fruit in Malaysia) and also put in fresh cream. The cake was also not as sweet as conventional cakes. Truly bliss
Mongolian Style Wok Tossed Australian Lamb Ribs with Pickled Chilli and Cucumber Ribbons RM45 No regret. It was sooo delicious! Really enjoyed the Australian lamb ribs coated in sticky sweet, smoky sauce, with faint hint of spiciness. Minimal gaminess, just wonderful tenderness in every bite. Wish to have some steamed bun to mop up all the leftover sauce. Even Summergirl gave thumbs up for this. Must-try when you are in Jibby Chow.
It was a great visit to Jibby Chow, the food was delicious, none has disappointed me, the ambiance was nice, and the staffs were friendly and really attentive, even before I came as a blogger!
The meat and meatball here is fresh - the meatballs for order are still soft and chilled, they somehow manage not to freeze anything. My favorite chilled item is the homemade shrimp dumpling and the tau foo pok.
All in all, a pleasant experience and they deserve every bit of accolade due to them.
Worth mentioning was the spicy black sauce that comes with the Satay!
An overall disappointment of the food sampled as all are highly recommended dishes by the waiter.
I suppose the presentation of the cake, coffee or food is better than what it tasted (I think), at least on my plate of Pasta. Food prices are slight on above the medium range (rm$25++beyond).
Today is just trying out its dessert; the unique taste of the "薄荷枇杷冻 Chilled Putian Loquat in Herbal Jelly" was an excellent choice. Others were ok!
