This was really a neighbourhood zi char. The bee hoon had good moistness, wok hei and flavour – I slurped it all up in double quick time. Pity about what seemed like canned pork trotters though.
Some kailan stir fried with garlic for our dietary fibres. I liked that it was sufficiently salted and there were both bits of deep fried garlic and thin sliced stir fried garlic in there.
I have a feeling I would go right back to these three because they’re just that good. 10/10 would come back again!
Tried their black pepper sliced fish. Not a bad rendition if I might say.
Tried their kung bao prawns (宫保虾球). Pretty decent cze char standard for kung bao and the prawns had a nice fresh crunchiness.
This little chef owner Zi Char is another one of those places best described as a “Hidden Gem”.
A very satisfying above-average zichar stall, with a good attempt to create new dishes that excite the palate.
