Holland Drive Market & Food Centre is just 5 - 8 minutes walk from Buona Vista MRT station.
These were some tasty noodles, slick with oil, pork lard and savoury sauce, and soft with bite. The minced meat was similarly well flavoured and the fried stuffed goods or yong tau foo tasty and crispy. The stuffed goods in soup was nicely savoury and bouncy, but a bit less impressive.
Checking out New Lucky Claypot Rice 新鸿运瓦煲饭which was listed in the Michelin guide. The chicken claypot rice was cooked to order, thus there was a long wait.
New Lucky Claypot Rice at Holland Village serves a mean claypot, but avoid the soups.
The dining frenzy passed quickly and everything quietened down around 8pm when the wave of customers finished their dinner.
Overall, it is definitely above average and I would rank it higher than Geylang Claypot Rice
I find the entire dining experience rather pleasant – the reservation helped, and the hawker centre was also quite airy at night.
Is this the best Claypot Rice in Singapore? While I cannot give a definitive answer, New Lucky Claypot Rice does deserve its accolades and popularity.
The Claypot was well executed with generous servings for an affordable price and if you call early, this makes for a splendid lunch or dinner.
Overall, this was a pretty commendable claypot, and as good as the famous one in Geylang.
Overall, the claypot rice at New Lucky Claypot Rice, Holland Drive food centre was quite nice. We would try it again but not if we had to wait that long. We will definitely use the telephone booking system the next time if we decide to eat here again.
