The Australian Wagyu M5 was a premium add-on with beautiful marbling. The quality of the meat was top-notch and little seasoning was necessary.
The kitchen veers successfully into Nyonya dishes with the serving of the Nasi Lemak. We devoured deep-fried veggie fish, and salted fish besides papadam and curry with warm rice boiled with coconut oil. This vegetarian version of the Malaysian favorite definitely sets a new standard for the nasi lemak dish.
This spot definitely screams modern Parisian vibes.
For a slightly lighter meal-wise, the Tea Hall definitely has something to offer. Order the piping hot bowl of spinach soup with minced meat and egg or the bitter gourd soup. Both are simple, providing a taste of home.
Miodis' Egg Ben Bubble Style with Salmon Grazlax was delicious- the Egg was perfectly poached with golden-flowing Yolk and served with creamy Hollandaise sauce. It felt light and not overly seasoned- even the smoked Salmon carried the right salinity. We also liked the fact that the smoked Salmon did not overkill the dish, just the right amount to complement the dish by offering a sleek smokiness. The amount of Hollandaise sauce was spot on either.
We opted for the waffle with espresso butter which comes with egg, bacon, and salad. Accompanying this reasonably light dish is the espresso butter sauce. This combination may sound cliched and is an acquired taste, but is apparently a hit with diners.
Yellow wine chicken is also another good poultry dish – cooked with rice wine, the dish is appealingly sweet.
If you go on the right day and time (ie when there is no Chinese Banquet on going) you can have the entire restaurant to yourself, and do follow the recommendation of the order taker, he/she will ensure you have the best experience.
Since I was not feeling well, my only light option will be Mushroom Chicken Noodle (RM 8.80). Smooth and light in taste, it turned out to be a decent choice and appeased well to my weakened appetite. Moreover, it was served with generous portion of mushrooms, vegetables and meats.
Silver Spoon knows their Pesto Sauce well, the flavors were amazing; the herbaceous element was there, complemented with rich, cream-based sauce. A pity that the Spaghetti was over-cooked though we enjoyed the sauce a lot. It's hard to find Rib Eye Steak that costs below Rm 50 in Penang but as expected, the cut was a lackluster. Though the Red Wine sauce was beautifully done, the texture of the meat was somewhat disappointing. The meat was rough and the bite was less-satisfying. The Rib Eye Steak was served with a side of Potato Au Gratin and some greens. All in all, we have no complaints given the promotional rates but for usual rates, we thought they could do better.
