Recommended by ieatishootipost. The house sauce that came with the Honbo burger was not bad, creamy and slightly piquant and tangy. The burger was well balanced, with soft buns and nice tasty patties. The crispiness and thinness of the patties threw me off though – the juiciness and moistness that I liked in a burger was really missing. Perhaps I need to get one of those burgers with thick beef.
The prices are on the higher side if you were making it a meal with burgers, sides and drinks as compared to places like Shake Shack or Five Guys. No doubt that it tasted good, they are on the greasier side and overall, I will say its not worth the time spent on queuing.
I don't usually associate Hong Kong with burgers, but nonetheless this shop from up north is down here now (30 Victoria Street #01-09), and it's pretty good.
Honbo, the home-grown burger joint hailing from Hong Kong, marks its first overseas outpost in Singapore, nestled within the iconic CHIJMES. Bite into Honbo's unique rendition of simple and straightforward American-style burgers crafted in-house by hand with no nasties, only top quality, from buns to patties, sauces, and toppings.
Burgers are pretty good, especially the beef patties. If you are a fan of beef burger, give Honbo a try. The prices are on the higher side as compared to other established artisanal burgers though. Don’t forget to try it with their in-house Flagrant Smash Sauce to elevate your taste.
