Overall, most of the dishes were pretty authentic in taste although some dishes missed a few notes to be perfect. Some dishes however are priced quite high for the serving size
On my plate of white rice sprinkled with black sesame seeds were a generous serving of lu rou, braised peanuts, two halves of a hard-boiled egg and a bed of lettuce. It came with a free bowl of vegetable soup.
A good mix of food items that go well with steamed rice. The medium was adequate for two persons. We think it is a nice dish to try once in a while and is a good break from the usual hawker food dishes.
The curry was of the sweeter variety, but was a bit more one dimensional. The pork chop was fairly crispy and quite flavourful and thick, the cabbage sweet and soft, but the sambal squid had a bit of an unpleasant “fishy” taste, which the sparse sambal didn’t mask.
The environment is relaxing and the service was not bad. Though there is not much variety in the merchandise, the food quality and standard are worth the trip back to Blue Balls Bike Cafe.
The bun cha gio with grilled chicken came with a nice crunchy and crispy fried spring roll wrapped with fried vermicelli, enveloping soft and seasoned minced chicken, blended prawns, and diced vegetables.

This hor fun presented an interesting contrast in textures not seen elsewhere with the crispy hor fun on top. The generous pork lard was very crispy and fragrant, and the sauce was really smooth and eggy. The accompanying ingredients – fishcake, sliced pork, sliced fish and chicken prawns – were ok and quite competent. Overall quite nice – comfort food I will go back for.
Fatty Ipoh Fried Noodles is a definite hidden gem in Pasir Panjang. Most of their dishes are priced at $5, making it an absolute steal! Read more.
Did we order the wrong thing? I guess it will be our first and the last time buying from this stall. If not we have to be very selective about what dishes we pick in the next round.
