Yun Nans came to Singapore awhile back and only now have I gotten to try it. Featuring dishes from the Yunnan region, one of the specialities is Steam Pot Chicken Soup. The flavor is ok, but nothin…
Usher in the Year of the Ox this February with YUN NANS!
餐馆主打高原料理,云南有七种气候类型,最高海拔6000米以上,无污染原始环境,遍布野生牛肝菌、黑松露、绿色南瓜,以及可食用花卉如茉莉花、玫瑰花和菊花。
Food at Tamago-En is Japanese cuisine, with a focus on dishes that incorporate eggs. From appetizers to mains to desserts, expect their signature eggs sourced fresh from Okinawa, and disinfected using ultraviolet light, to feature.
Ambience at Tamago-En is modern casual.
I've never really been drawn to places like En Sakaba and Aburi-EN given how commercialized they looked.
Beauty In The Pot’s latest outlet at NEX, Serangoon opened this October with magical unicorn wonderland theme.
吃完火锅后,餐馆里的雪糕推车还有提供免费雪糕,配合新店的独角兽主题,这里推出的雪糕也是粉红紫蓝交织的独角兽色系,送完为止。
There will be a unicorm ice-cream trolley that comes to the table to serve you. The ice-cream is only available from 5 October onwards.
While gatherings and festivities still have to remain small this year, Ichiban Boshi boasts a bounty of delicious offerings to devour in the comforts of home.
Special Promotion for Citibank cardholders
Inspired by a list of our world renowned national signature dishes, Ichiban Boshi has conjured a selection of sushi that our countrymen really ought to be proud of.
The curry was fiery and lemak and full of flavour, tasting much like a good local curry. The bowl was full of various ingredients, with the tau kee and beancurd roll standing out for their crispness and ability to soak up the curry, and the Fuzhou fishball for its uniqueness of having meatball wrapping meat, and its juiciness inside.
With such a convenient location, and large range of dishes available in one place, 南洋岛 NAN YANG DAO is certainly an attractive place for a meal!
The truffle aroma was so strong I could smell it when they serve this.
創 (Sō) Ramen is one of the better affordable ramen place in Singapore which is committed to provide the best ramen experience.
a good place to dine for Thai Chinese Seafood.
Nice comfortable place for a zi char style dinner with a few Thai style dishes which gives a different menu from your usual zi char dishes.
Riverside Grilled Fish is a chain that has been around for awhile, but we never usually go because almost all the time, we didn’t want to eat fish in a variety of spicy sauces – which is what they are really known for.
Overall, King's Laksa Steamboat buffet is definitely value for money.
Being less crowded than other steamboat places, yet offering decent ambience, service, and food, all at affordable prices, King's Laksa Steamboat remains a strong stalwart in the steamboat scene.
We had the laksa and chicken soup bases in our yin-yang pot. Happy to see fried pig's skin and fried beancurd skin for the laksa broth. So matching!
The perfect roundup of all these Malaysian flavors is the D24 Johor King Chendol (S$6.90), the cold and creamy shaved ice dessert flavored with a dash of gula Melaka, coconut milk, and made fit for a king with upgraded D24 Johor durian puree and freshly squeezed coconut flesh.
For a no-frills meal with friends or family, Lau Wang Claypot is a decent choice. The food here may not be especially noteworthy, but it is comforting and fixes clay pot cravings in a pinch.
Five Guys’ commitment to sourcing quality ingredients and delivering a consistently great experience is what differentiates the brand. The bread, which is a Five Guys’ proprietary item, is baked fresh in a local bakery. Potatoes are cut fresh daily, soaked in an ice bath to remove the starch, and double-fried in pure peanut oil to create the firm outside and ‘mashed-potato’ inside that Five Guys fries are known for.
Brought in by Zouk Group, this American cult favourite is a fast-casual burger joint with a simple goal: selling the best quality burgers possible.
To my surprise, this was what came out. Granted, it's my mistake for going the minimalist route like I do with my burgers (at least the patty was nice and beefy!).
A cosy new dining addition to Serangoon which offers artisanal pizza option is a welcoming idea for me. Gusta Sourdough Pizza is a casual dining concept which is ideal for family meals or small group gatherings where you can try out more pizza flavours for a better dining experience.
For the price, the quality of what I had at home is decent and I do want to give it a try at the restaurant itself once dine-in is possible again.
Overall: 7 Ambience & Setting: 9 Food & Beverage: 7 Service: 8 Value for Money: 7 Spent about SGD $29 per person.
The dishes are adventurous and different from the usual staples served at other cafes. Taste is really subjective. It didn’t work for me but it may work for others. But I like the ambience which is good for meetups with friends. The menu is halal but the cafe is not, as they also serve beer. If you are driving, good news is, there are carpark spaces along Lim Tua Tow road! And of course, you don’t have to visit the cafe only on Sunday. They are even open on Monday!
We paid $60 for two, slightly more expensive than other cafes. But given how good everything was–decor, food, service–it was worth it. I’ll drop by often. Sunday Market, start having a membership discount card for me!
We are looking forward to returning since there are just so few credible cafes in the northeast, and fortunately Cottontail Creamery hit some right notes for us.
I’m definitely making a second trip here because their brunch menu is about to be launched soon!
An outstanding cafe that is situated in the neighbourhood, Cottontail Creamery is a spot that is worth visiting at least once, especially if in the Serangoon area; the savoury crepes sound like something we would be really interested to have if we ever come back for a revisit!
This Taiwanese Cafe is well-known for its charcoal-grilled sandwiches, as well as its braised pork rice.
Their Salmon Mentai, usually priced at $2.90++, is a hot favourite and for good reason.
CHICHA San Chen will be taking over the former unit of Yuan Cha, next to Bali Thai on level two of NEX. The new outlet at NEX is expected to open in Feb 2021.
Pints & Cones seems like the kind of shop that you would go to for a quick gelato fix if you’re in the area.
