The taste was 中规中矩. I wouldn’t queue quite so long for this. I apparently got the last bowl of braised pork rice, which had a balanced savoury flavour with some fatty bits and some chewy bits of pork. The pork floss and eggs omelette was eggy and soft, going nicely with the sweet and airy pork floss, and enhanced by the sweet 酱油膏. Quite nice.
初早餐 True Breakfast came up in the search and is located inside Cuppage Plaza. I was there super early but they had a long queue before the shop opened! Luckily, I had time to spare.
3rd time lucky - that’s my exact thought when I joined the queue to enter True Breakfast Cafe (初早餐) as my first two visits had been unsucc...
How the prawns and broth were done and how the squid was artistically cut, tell us that really mean business in their preparation. If you are looking to have some local Prawn Noodles with Japanese Fusion, you can't go wrong visiting Ebi Bar.
The soup here was sweet, slightly prawny and smoky, and quite refreshing, almost like a mix between the more modern prawny ramen soup, and the traditional Singaporean prawn noodle soup.
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
I'm not sure if it's because my expectations have become distorted or if the quality has eroded over the years.
We were glad to find a good meal in a restaurant in Orchard Road in Singapore, the most expensive city in the world.
Izakaya Nijumaru Japanese Restaurant at Cuppage Plaza with old fashioned decor- Review with pictures of interior and menu with prices
Japanese food wouldn’t be complete without a good beer or whisky and over at Izakaya Nijumaru, the beverage list is pretty well curated in their own rights, too.
I would have easily recommended them as the top kushiyaki joint locally. I'm not so sure these days.
This place is inexpensive (I can’t think of any other good Japanese dinner places in Singapore this price) considering the quality and I can understand why it remains popular even though it’s been around so a long time.
When my friend suggested heading to Cuppage Plaza for Japanese, I was the least excited. Although Cuppage Plaza is known for being a treasure trove of Japanese
Some very good tasting Hokkaido oysters were in season. So good.
Today's otoshi was cold grilled chicken with onions. Not one of the better otoshi they have.
Their freshly grilled shishamo was delicious.

Five Nines is definitely worth a revisit given the high quality ingredients and affordable price point.
999.99 FIVE NINES ambience and decor has a distinct personality that sets the mood for a casual dinner hangout and relaxing after-work drinks till late.
Overall, it was a nice experience at Hanashizuku right from reservation to the actual dinner.

Although Cuppage Plaza might be a bit of a walk from the heart of town, if you have time to spare, and are looking for a tasty and affordable meal, Orchard Yong Tau Fu is a great option.
Overall, the food was decent and the ambience of the restaurant was enjoyable.
Eventhough Kappo Shunsui's kaiseki is not Kyoto-perfect, with several late Spring ingredients like sweet ayu and hamo (conger eel) missing an appearance, this private kaiseki diner is going down in our book as one of the most authentic we've seen in Singapore. Needless to say, it's highly recommended.
I've never had such a good one in Singapore honestly.
That looked and tasted much better than it sounded, with that super tender pork belly covered in a velvety yet light sauce over distinct grains of rice.
If I can just get past my guilt, then I might come here more often given the good quality of ingredients that they use in these Inflation Menu dishes.
The Inflation Menu item at The English House today was this fish pie, which was delicate and easy to eat. It turns out that they also have wine by the glass on the Inflation Menu too.
They don’t take reservations so customers in the know will arrive by 11.45 am to chope a place when they open at 12noon!

Misato certainly served delicious Japanese food and they paid special attention to the cutlery and utensils too. However, it is a little slow. We would still recommend. Therefore, dine when you have the time to spend.

Portions were a little small. Prices were a little high.
Food at Five Guys is American cuisine, focused specifically on burgers, hotdogs, and milkshakes. The menu is small and focused, instead, the emphasis is on maintaining a consistently high quality.
It seems like there are many burger joints in Singapore nowadays; aside from the famous Shake Shack , another international burger brand th...
This noodle chain apparently commands long lines back in Malaysia, mainly for a broth that is made from forty different kinds of local fish bones (313 Orchard Road #B3-37, 6363-5323). So I was disappointed when I took a sip of it to find that it wasn't anywhere as savory as I would've thought, and in fact was slightly sweet.
Food at GO Noodle House is Malaysian Chinese cuisine, focused on soup noodles with their signature broth. The menu is extensive, with a good range. Quality of dishes is consistent, tasty and delicious.
Good texture going on with the toppings but the noodles on their own weren't impressive at all.
The Dragon Chamber provides guerrilla-style Chinese cuisine. They want to stretch the diners comfort zone serving unconventional Chinese food
Overall, I find the food and dining experience at TDC memorable. I am unable to appreciate the Szechuan influence in some dishes, however, the rest of the dishes are great.
