Simple meal. Affordable prices. Worth eating.👍
The first hawker in Singapore to be located in a community club, here is the list of 17 must try stalls at Ci Yuan Hawker Centre.
Went to Ding Tele 鼎特乐 for lunch a while back. They're located at Cheong Chin Nam Rd at Beauty World which has a lot of yummy food there. They specialize in Shanghainese cuisine and their Sheng Jian Bao is a must order!!
Overall, Ding Te Le offers a very good Shanghainese staple dishes.
The Signature Pan-fried Crispy Pork Soup Buns ($4.80/4 pieces), aka sheng jian baos, have a thick skin which sports a nice char. Take a bite of the bao, and flavourful and hearty soup will ooze out.
This was really wow – a really thick and viscous porridge, with maximum flavour, and generous ingredients. The sliced pork and pork balls were really tender and sweet and slightly peppery, and the century egg nicely pungent.
Sin Heng Kee Porridge is renowned for its traditional Teochew-style porridge, a beloved comfort food here. The eatery boasts a long-standing history, attracting a dedicated following of locals and tourists alike.
Best Congee In Singapore I had so far!
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
One of the most famous and often touted as the best Teochew fish soup stall in Singapore.
This is definitely a comforting bowl and something that I will go for on rainy days and anytime.
I do get the opportunities for advertorials in this blog but many a times; both parties are unable to compromise on the terms. My terms are ...
Order from 8Crabs and have large fresh meaty Sri Lankan crabs delivered to your doorstep in ONE hour! They have zi char dishes as well!
For the fresh crabs, 8 Crabs Seafood Restaurant is worth trying. It is also great that there is a good mix of other dishes on their online stall to go along with my crab feast.
You are enjoying a roaring business only because of your customers' support so treat them right. I reiterate: I am not asking for five stars service at a coffee shop, all I am asking for is mutual respect.
I am not expecting five stars service at a coffee shop but I am sure nobody appreciates being yelled at for no apparent reason especially while paying for said service.
Besides the tom yum noodles, I do see myself coming back to have another bowl or even head to the outlet at Bukit Panjang!
Though food from Took Lae Dee is pocket friendly and Authentic, cooked by Thai Chef, I find that its a standard fare. Pricing-wise, it's not cheap in my opinion.
Affordable and satisfying!
Took Lae Dee in Tai Seng has an air-conditioned dining area designed around an open kitchen.
The claypot rice was really smoky and flavourful, full of crisp burnt bits, and smelling of the charcoal fire. It came chock full with Chinese sausage, chicken and salted fish. The chicken was really nicely flavoured and tasted almost barbecued, sweet and savoury at the same time. The only drawback was that the rice was a bit dry. But this is a claypot rice that I will remember and crave for.
The perpetual, snaking queue outside Hougang Hainanese Curry Rice stall at Kovan Food Centre has long attracted my attention and while i saw it being featured on a TV programme; i knew it's time for me to check it out!
I don’t like the pushy service as the waitress kept recommending the expensive stuff on the menu.
I have come across reviews about their lousy service but putting that aside, the food here is delicious.
the claypot pomfret soup the best,
charming durian cafe offers small selection of cakes & desserts - including craquelin & ice cream, freshly made without artificial flavour
Given its concept, Ms Durian is a spot that seems to differ from the other durian-centric establishments that had sprouted all over the island a couple of years ago.
If you are craving for durian desserts, you can head down to Ms Durian for a try. Don’t forget about your mints.
Overall, the sashimi and don we ordered were decent although the prices were on the slightly higher side. Some of the highlights include the aged salmon which is not commonly found in other Japanese restaurants and the chawanmushi which is really delightful. For the price tag, I would say the sashimi and sushi are probably worth it but I’m not that convinced about the rest of the items. Personally, the distance from my house is really far so I will not be going there any time soon
Fairly reasonable prices for the quality of ingredients here, Daiyusan Sushi Bar is worth trying if you want a no-frills dining ambience tucked away from the crowd.
Comfort food at its best. If you go for their signature bowl, the meal will set you back by just S$5 for a comforting hot bowl of kway chap and Yaowarat’s signature items.
Overall, Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap definitely brings with them the authentic Thai Kway Chap flavours to Singapore.
The kailan is really well executed with the aroma for wok hei, fish sauce, garlic and of course the crispy pork.
Flowy salted egg within the crispy croissant, with melty and rich raclette cheese over it. Indulgent stuff, at the cafe that start it all – the salted egg and the raclette cheese trends.
Along with their raclette dishes, the food here was so impressive and affordable that my companions and I ended up having a good time, every time.
Overall, we enjoy the food, service and ambiance of the place. We recommend the Yummy’s Signature Chicken Stuffed in Pig Stomach Soup, Crispy Sweet & Sour Pork Served on Ice Cubes, Braised Home-Made Beancurd with Golden Mushroom & Fresh Crab Meat in Pumpkin Sauce, Sauteed E-Fu Noodle with Fresh Crab Meat and Steamed Mashed Taro with Ginko Nuts & Pumpkin. Cheers!!
Overall, most of the dishes of Yummy Palace is delectable although their pricing is more on the high side compared to the older traditional restaurants.
The bigger may not always be the better here. Yes, the regular-sized bowl is great for a quick lunchtime meal.
Staff at Tiew Mai is mainly Thai, and offers a certain level of authenticity. If only more people knew about Hougang Midtown.
Overall, Tiew Mai Thai Boat Noodle does seem to have the potential especially given that the Thai boat noodles here have more hits than misses.
There are a number of Wan Xin MLXG outlets around and if you are thinking to eat at the comfort of your place, they are on deliver platforms too and you can get them deliver to your doorsteps with according to your selected schedule.
Tingle your taste buds with our addictive and highly-rated mala xiang guo & many other mala dishes!
Crispy tasty PB & J Waffle with nice contrasts in textures and flavours, with peanut butter, seasonal berries, fruit preserve, vanilla ice cream, and importantly, very interesting gula melaka granola.
Amber Ember is a nice cafe where you can slow down and unwind. It has a limited menu but the food is interesting. The coffee is good.
Although the food has thought put in them and isn’t the usual cafe fare, it is strange to pair complicated food in a minimalist setting. They should have kept the food easy breezy. Less is more. We spent $66 for two persons, including service charge but there is no GST.
Definitely a meal best enjoyed with a group of friends or family. Fuss-free setup, fresh ingredients and quick service, plus the chance to spot some celebrities amongst the diners, 888 Mookata does it a notch better than its other competitors.
The sweet sauce is good with anything in the steamboat while the spicy one pairs well with all the grilled meats.
It is recommended that you make a reservation in advance. However, do note that reservations are not available during weekends and only on weekdays.
Two Cranes would not only be a spot that Kovan residents would appreciate, but also a good location for those who are looking for a cafe away from the hustle-and-bustle of town for dates and catch-up sessions with a small group of friends as well.
Two Cranes lets you smell your tea before you make a decision on which tea to drink. Their tea and coffee are all sourced from local companies.
they cater to residents living in the area with affordably priced cafe fare without any hidden GST or service charge.
The ingredients were solid – the pork liver was 粉嫩刚刚好, pork lard was very crisp and flavourful, stewed mushrooms were juicy and savoury, and pork balls, fish balls and minced pork were all fresh and tasty.
today really not so good & far cry from curry chicken noodles..not eating here again..
For me, I prefer Fa Ji Minced Meat Fishball Noodle because I like stronger flavours, and Fa Ji’s chilli sauce really won me over.
