The ramen noodle of SoloMen deserves a special mention as it was perfectly done. The ramen texture was al-dente, springy and firm
My order: ChaHan set (fried rice) with miso soup, 3 gyoza and a cup of hot green tea at MYR 13.70 nett. I kept half the rice and two gyoza for dinner and finished drinking all the miso soup and hot green tea.
Earl Grey Mojito RM7.90 This drink also came highly recommended by the barista and I can clearly see why. This alcohol-free drink is absolutely refreshing! The earl grey tea added a crisp flavour to the traditional mojito! Underneath the minty citrus blend, the drink ended with a creamy base note of early grey which lingers for a bit. Quite an interesting adventure for the taste bud, but definitely a good one.
Solomen Cafe is certainly the right choice if you love hearty, well-prepared meal, it was a pleasant meal and I had no complaints about it, they have quite a variety of food, therefore, I am planning to go back and try other versions of Ramen.
TORI KARAAGE - RM 14.50 Deep fried boneless chicken in Japanese style. Usually if you visit some other Japanese restaurant, they served karaage chicken in small cube. But, in SoloMen Cafe they're served in big pieces of crunchy fried Karaage chicken. This SIGNATURE Tori Karaage, Deep-Fried Homemade Marinated Boneless Chicken(Drumsticks) in Japanese Style will surprised you. Remember to check out how they made chicken crispy, tender yet juicy! BEST!!!
My lunch order: Shoyu Ramen (MYR 16.90 nett) with Gyoza and cold green tea. Good value for money. Of course I had to keep half for my dinner.
你问我会不会再来, 我绝对会再回来吃他们家的北海道豚丼!
Solomen Cafe 的菜单的一般日式餐厅的不太一样,选择很多,还有不少比较不常见的菜色,蛮有新鲜感的。
Solomen Cafe serves a myriad of comforting and hearty Japanese cuisine focusing on simple ramen and don (rice) dishes with a good fare of appetizer, ala carte items and All-Day Set menu to choose from. They have gone for simple, fuss-free decor instead, letting their meals speak for itself.
Gyudon (Beef rice) at MYR24.50 nett which includes a bowl of soup. The stir fry sliced beef with onion in ginger sauce is on the sweet side and I like the taste of the sliced raw spring onions on top. The rice is those quality rice which is soft and a bit sticky. The style of this don reminds me of the beef bowl at Yoshinoya but of course the quantity here is more.
