Decided to an older establishment instead, a few months’ ago. Sou Omakase Dining has been around for 6 years, and still going strong given its location and decent pricing.
Located in "Mid Valley City Mall", and near to entrance the Gardens Hotel is the "Sou Omakase Dining" which offers no other menu but only Omakase dining experience starting at rm$88 to rm$350+; available as Lunch or Dinner options.
Verdict: For person that never been to Japan like me, it’s always good to have chance to sample food or produces freshly bring in to our country. If you are Japanese food enthusiasts, don’t attempt to miss this!
Overall, it's okay.
Attention All Pork Lovers! If you enjoyed pork cuisine cooked in any styles, then you are in for a treat for the pork-licious menu by Ticklish Ribs & 'Wiches has to offer in their menu. I was at their newly opened 2nd outlet at The Garden Mall, Mid Valley recently to check out a few of their best dishes cooked in the most traditional Asian recipes but served in new ways.
Pork lovers out there, this place will definately feed you well as they are hitting most of their items all about porks.
The ribs are well marinated with herbs so they are delicious without any oink oink taste.
We ordered the pork chop rice lunch set which includes the main meal, a drink and a side dish which turned out to be ladyfingers. The sauce for the pork chop is sweet marmite which I like. I was surprised to see fries served with rice so I ate the fries while my spouse ate the rice
Zun express at Midvalley Mall. CNY set lunch for 2 pax at MYR 56.80++ (MYR 65.57 nett). Add 2 hard boiled eggs for MYR 1.20++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 1.40 nett) each.
We always buy the chee cheong fun with 5 pieces of YTF set with curry gravy because we prefer to eat chee cheong fun than rice even though the price for the rice set is lower than the ccf set.
Pulut kuning beef rendang (Turmeric glutinous rice with beef cooked with spices and coconut milk) - MYR9.90+ 6% GST which is MYR10.50 nett. While the price stays the same, the portion now is much smaller.
I chose lala fried mee hoon as the other dish and ate it the next day. I did not expect the oyster omelette to be spicy. It was on the oily side too. I did not count the number of oysters but I think there were about 6 oysters. The eggs covered the gooey stuffs which were quite firm so it did not feel gooey. Quite acceptable except that it was a bit too spicy for me so I don't think I will order this again.
I ordered the multigrain lontong dish. It has half a hard boiled egg, long beans, cabbage, brinjal, carrot, tempeh, glass noodles and about 7 cubes of compressed rice made from multigrain rice so it is not as soft as the rice cubes in the lontong that I have eaten at Ole Melaka, DC Mall and AMAH, the Sphere. The curry is creamy, not that spicy so it is suitable for me but it is more on the sweet side (I prefer it to be less sweet). I kept half for dinner.
My bowl of organic black bean soup (with no black beans in it) with lots of ingredients - bean curd paste, carrots, mushrooms, vegetables with the noodle of my choice at MYR 16.90 nett. I selected brown rice mee suah and kept half of it for dinner as they serve quite a big portion of the noodles. The soup is very flavourful without any MSG because I do not feel thirsty at all after drinking all the soup.
Lately I have been eating at vegetarian specialty eateries because my co-workers wanted to eat there and I am ok to eat there once in a while. This time, instead of BMS Organics, we went to Simple Life because my friend felt like having their Organic Black Bean Soup that she had tried before.
