Living up to its reputation, the Hainanese kopi mixed with tea was indeed delicious, and the coffee itself fragrant, well-balanced and moderately “kaw”. A nice change from Western All Day Breakfast, a meal here is comforting and soul-food for those who long for nostalgia, but at premium prices. Kopi average about RM4 per cup while the toast varieties are from RM5 to 8 (approx).
What do We Like about Thong Kee @ Sea Park? -The many varieties for breakfast directly from Thong Kee instead of the individual stalls -The organized table and ordering system. Can clearly see some serious thoughts being put in to improve the process flow, impressive -The beverages and foods are reasonably priced
Unlike most Hainanese breakfast eateries, Thong Kee’s specialty is their homemade croissants which is what makes them unique.Thong Kee Cafe at Seapark, Petal...
Overall, the RM34 we paid for half a bird is quite a good price (compared to its peers in the area). Sunrise remains a popular joint for many as we saw the ducks sell out by 1pm.
Sunrise roast duck 2020 , Sea Park, Petaling Jaya. Charcoal roast, golden duck! Rm58/ duck as of the date 2020 September.
Perhaps one of the go-to place for any Roast Duck lovers, some say that Restoran Sunrise's roast duck is one of the best in Klang Valley.
This hawker in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia tosses his wonton mee high in the air and catches it before serving it up. It’s earned the Flying Wan Tan Mee stall it...
I personally liked it! Furthermore, I get to see the owner's flying Wan Ton Mee skill where he tossed the Noodle perhaps some 15 feet up the sky and seems manage to retrieve it every time, fascinating.
I will definitely be back to enjoy this Seapark flying char siew wantan mee and show my friends how charming street food in KL is. It's the whole package - good food, nice folks, the dingiest dusty street side, great value and amazing showmanship.
What do We Like about Kampar Cafe Sea Park? -Both the signature Kampar noodle and curry chee cheong fun were good
Kampar Curry at MYR 11.90 nett. This price includes a drink from 8 choices. My friend says that this curry noodle is as authentic as can be because it tastes of home for her.
If you're hankering for fried chicken rice, instead of the usual roasted chicken, this place would be a great option. They seem to have mastered the art of deep-frying, not only with their fried chicken, but also the chicken liver and lobak. Only setback is that the shop is old-looking and cleanliness is not tip-top as the floor is rather slippery from of all that grease and oil because of the deep-frying done at the front of the shop. That aside, it does offer a good fried chicken rice. So, walk carefully or just "tapau" (though I can't guarantee the fried chicken will stay crisp by the time you get home)!
Hoe Fong also happen to serve Penang loh bak that turned out to be one of the better versions I tried in Klang Valley. If you’re a fan of loh bak, you should really give this a try.
Our favourite here has to be the Red Bean Ham Chim Peng (RM1.60) due to the generous filling of red bean paste (good texture, not cloyingly sweet) and puffed pastry.
This shop sells Crispy Cakoi and many other traditional fried snacks and desserts all day! Its a local favorites store! Their Tau Fu Fa’s brown sugar has a l...
They sell tofufa (soybean curd), hong tao sui (red bean sweet soup), and many other types of tong sui; deep fried snacks such as yao char kwai (chinese cruellers), sweet "Ham Chim Peng" with red bean fillings, "Kap Choong" (the one with glutinous rice in the middle), "Ma Keok" (literally means Horse Hoof - the one with the sesame seeds on it), savoury "Ham Chim Peng" (flavoured with 5 spices); chee cheong fun, mee hoon and other light food.

especially liked the Asam Laksa. The broth was thick and flavorful. It tasted as it should. I would have liked it if there were chunks of tuna in it. Here, it was in a minced form? Basically small pieces scattered all over. The good thing about this was that every mouth you take is guaranteed to have some tuna in it. So, all good I guess despite the lack of chunks.
So is their Hokkien Char any good? The answer is a resounding yes! To be perfectly honest, if you didn’t grow up having Hokkien Char, it may not be a dish that speaks to you, but if you love spicy sambal and a dish of fried noodle that’s not overly strong or starchy, you may want to give this a try.
From fancy cafe to local hawker delight, you found it all in Seapark Petaling Jaya. Sister curry noodles, one of the local delight and authentic hawker food not to be missed, housed in Restoran Sun Fatt Kee.
We picked ikan kembung, lobak, steamed minced pork, braised tofus, braised eggs, choi pou, ham choi (both are marinated veggies) to go with two plain porridge. The ikan kembung in assam gravy surprisingly were good, it must have been fried before putting into the gravy. The two marinated veggies were not too salty and the lobak and minced pork went well with the porridge. Overall we like all the dishes we picked. There are actually more we like to try out (like the lala), perhaps next time.
The famous stall would be the Sisters Curry Noodles. They have their own following as the ingredients are of good quality and fresh. The curry paste was done daily.
What do We Like about Restoran Sea Park? -Both the curry mee and Sarawak laksa have rich and thick broth, flavourful taste. Definitely worth checking out
Hokkien Mee, 8 ringgit Given the 30 minutes wait and the many positive reviews online, some even saying that this is one of the best Hokkien Mee in KL – I am kindda let down, perhaps I had too high an expectation? Sure, the noodles were soft and springy, flavor/tastewise – it was good but that unique taste that you’d associate with charcoal was missing and the pork lard bits were missing too. There were none and I was surprised.
The chicken was so tender, easy to eat as the meat dettached easily from the bone. The balanceness was purrfect, I don’t need any more seasoning. The saltiness, briny, sourness, herbal was fine enough.
Steam chicken was tender and delicious.
Uncle Lim’s cafe, the neighborhood “modern” kopitiam. Their menu and range of varieties are for everyone. There are such as nasi lemak rendang (chicken / beef), Chicken Chop, Laksa, Kari Mee, Mushroom mee with chicken slices and Kuey Teow Soup with wantan. Their roti bakar and half boil eggs are perfect for breakie or tea-break.
This was yummy. I thought what I’d be getting when I ordered this dish was the usual nasi lemak items – rice, egg, ‘kacang’, anchovies + chicken rendang. Not really. The sotong sambal was a surprise. It was slightly sweet, a tad spicy and you’d get a pretty large piece of squid. It was good. For the rendang, you’d get a juicy chicken thigh with some rendang sauce. Overall, the Nasi Lemak was tasty. I’d order it again.
The soup of Yang Ki looked clear with beef slices and beef balls, however it definitely did not taste plain. It was very flavorful...
beef noodle with radish soup The braised sirloin with radish soup is something that I haven’t come across before. With the meat so tender and radish absorbing the flavor of the beef, it was quite a hearty stew-like concoction that I find myself liking very much.
Soong Kee beef noodle came with minced meat, bowl of clear soup, beef slices, balls and veggie. The slices were tender and balls bouncy :)
My lunch: Salted Egg Yolk Chicken with (Small portion) Rice at MYR 8.50 nett. I kept half for dinner. The deep fried curry leaves enhanced the fragrance of the salted egg yolk. The pieces of chicken are coated with a thin layer of batter and deep fried until very crispy. A very tasty dish which I will definitely order again.
Red bean sweet soup with sweet potatoes at MYR 3.60 nett. Sweet potatoes when eaten with congee or with other sweet soup taste very good and this is no exception so I will have this again.
Marking this as my regular haunt. Simple, super fresh seafood and reasonable prices. Hard to coem by these days.
In conclusion, Hai Kah Lang in Seapark is making waves for all the right reasons. The wait may be long for those arriving after 8 am. But the freshness of the seafood, combined with the clear and flavorful soup and delightful sambal, makes it all worthwhile. If you’re a seafood enthusiast looking for a satisfying meal, Hai Kah Lang is the place to be.
The shop opens very early at 6am, before 7am arriving the shop was already with quite some customers.
In summary, Jom Rock’s yong tau fu selection was not too bad, however we hope there are more non-fried items. The flavors and textures made our breakfast experience enjoyable.
My Personal Opinion Since this is such an old name specialising in Ipoh sar hor fun, perhaps the standard isn't as good as they were back then. Nothing from the hor fun to the soup base to the prawn wontons to the poached chicken I cared for really. The environment of an old and dated shop with a slightly dark and not-so-clean interior didn't help it one bit.
Soo Kee Gei Si Hor Fun 蘇記怡保雞絲河粉 at Seapark, Petaling Jaya earns a good reputation for their Ipoh Chicken Koay Teow Soup, but we personally also enjoy their poached chicken, beautifully dressed in oyster sauce.
If you are asking me are they the best, I have no idea. I can say one of the best steam chicken that I have come accross, surely will come back again as its pretty near my office. Food Rating 7/10 quite good ah . . -stamped-
I would certainly recommend it.
The food we sampled was good but not great, I think the only reason for me to come back most probably is their signature pork ribs which we didn’t try this time.
