Well, the food was still edible, and I particularly liked a fish that they rubbed in cumin (or was it ground fennel seeds?) as well as a crispy roasted chicken. But there's no need to come back here to pay these kinds of prices either; Pantai was a steal compared to this place.
Puas hati. Terkabul hajat. Bebila boleh cuba datang dan makan lagi.
The restaurant is pork free restaurant and they have many Malay patrons. The restaurant offers varieties of seafood and mostly are still swimming in water tanks. The concept is similar to Unique Seafood Restaurant where you got to choose your own seafood.
Chicken is not too bad and I must say this is the better chicken rice I have eaten so far (note that I rarely eat Chicken rice)
Shah Alam必吃老字号玻璃叉烧、脆皮黄金烧肉!
Definitely a good location if you enjoy a good porky meal.
After what seemed like forever (when it comes to wantan mee), I was losing hope and close to losing it when I look at other table's noodles. Fortunately, the noodles did redeem themselves by being springy with the right amount of sauce. Of course, their char siew is da bomb. Caramelized fat, crispy skin, sweet savory guilty pleasure.
While the Wantan Mee was quite delicious, the star of the dish is no doubt the Char Siew. The Char Siew here wasn’t overly sweet and was caramelized well. The Char Siew was so tender it almost melts in your mouth. It was superb and complements the noodles wonderfully.
Meng Kee is famous for their pork belly BBQ (char siew) which has been in Glenmarie, Shah Alam for quite a while. Now they have expanded their business into noodles and seafood restaurant at the opposite side of the main Meng Kee restaurant. If you not manage to taste their char siew during day time, you can try it at night for dinner at this noodles shop. The meat is more lean and not as fatty when compared to the main Meng Kee shop.
Its on the spicy side and the signature curry chicken was definitely good.
Came nicely in a cute wok, nice colours and presentation. Damn they got something good going on here. Love the whole dish, absolutely delicious.
We went Pun Chun for lunch once in a few years and their Duck Drumstick Mee (Soup) RM9.00 is a must order in the list – serves with duck drumstick, wan tan noodles, and veggies. This is the first time we changed our option from dry into soup duck drumstick mee, but sad to say, this whole masterpiece becomes totally inedible (whole broth tastes like alkaline) which we suspect they’ve ignored the crucial steps of soaking the noodle in cold water (过冷河) beforehand. What’s the point of visiting a restaurant when they can’t even keep their signature dish up to standard? So in our humble opinion, no more next time! 😉
Succulent & Tender Roast Duck Drumstick RM 7.50 (Duck Soup Only) The highlight of the day was, of course, the long-awaited BIDOR Duck Drumstick Noodles Duck Mee. Simply irresistible serving of a big juicy piece of duck drumstick in a double-boiled herbal soup. Pun Chun 7 decades of family's secret recipe is all in this special flavourful herbal broth.
He recommended me on SOUP base instead of the dry version. Original handmade using wanton mee with Pun Chun family's secret recipe, their duck drumstick soup using double boiled with a lot Chinese traditional herbs that you cannot never taste in any place. Owner it's generous with the filling, you will ginger slices, dried wolberries, dried longan, mushrooms, green vegatables, daun bawang, and most important is the big piece of duck drumstick meat.
overall good enough to start the morning!
I love their chee cheong fun (猪肠粉). Wrapped in it is a mixture of sengkuang (jicama) and dried shrimps. It is delicious. This chee cheong fun is a must-try if you ever get there.
That aside, the curry gravy was aromatic, thick and rich in flavour. Squeeze some lime juice in to give the curry some zest. Pretty decent, but it was quite oily. My mother would have fainted at the sight of so much oil.
With three Set Menus for CNY priced from Menu C at RM 468 per table of 4-6 pax. Those dining in a group of 10 can opt for Menu A at RM 768 or Menu B at RM 668 only.
Smoked Standing Chicken, RM68 Hickory smoking wood pungent with strong bacon-flavor strong flavor to the roasted chicken. The meat was remarkably tender and the skin is beautifully crispy and flavoursome. Even without any garnishing, the chicken tastes delicious, the chicken comes with fried fish skin and scramble eggs. The addition of these simple ingredients gives every mouthful an explosive flavour.
Overall, I would say Gather Gather Kitchen is a good place for family dining or special celebration, where you will get lots of choices for reasonably priced Chinese specialities that are exclusive to Gather Gather Kitchen such as their Standing Smoked Chicken, Roast Pork Curry Chee Cheong Fun, 5 Colours EggPlant among others. Please call in early for reservation and make your bookings if you planning to dine here on their busy weekend's crowd.
Nak kata sedap sangat tu tak jugak. Ketam tu gemok tapi kurang isi. Overall biasa biasa je.
Tucked in the commercial centre of Bukit Jelutong, Kayu Manis Seafood Restaurant is one of the very few halal seafood restaurants in this area. Occupying a spacious corner lot, its unmistakable colourful purple-and-green interior can be glimpsed from the road in front.

帝城的环境极佳,佳肴更是色香味俱全,而且还附送美酒!
Asam laksa was good and so was their prawn mee below. Honestly I think they do decent bowls of noodles they serve here. Prawn noodles I added the fried fish ball and taupok, superb!
For only RM 6.50, this delicious Siam Mee Laksa is definitely worth going back for more. The broth has a strong fresh herb flavour as a result of hours of preparation and what gives it an extra kick, is the small plate of 'Har Ko' or shrimp paste sauce served alongside the bowl. What I like most is the thick and spicy broth, like an explosion of flavours with every sip offering strong fragrant flavours.
A hidden gem in Glenmarie Industrial Park is this coffee shop which serves noodles such as curry mee, Ipoh hor hee, prawn noodle and asam la...

The menu has many choices for 叫菜吃饭 but I opted for the Ala-Carte which is Mee Curry Seafood Special.
This is the view of their restaurant. We first visited this restaurant on June then. Noted that, there is 1 area that is facilitate with aircond & one area that is occupy with fan only. Facilities such as Surau & toilet also provided here.
sememangnya di restoran ni pelbagai hidangan masakan cina ditawarkan..rambang mata dibuatnya tataw nak oder apa..daripada lauk pauk sehinggalah kepada hidangan nasi & mi..tapi paling best, dim sum pun ada! haha..so wajibla mengoder walopun sedikit *& walopun aku da melantak dim sum pagi tu gak..wakaka*
Verdict: Recommended by a Penangite foodie, I believe the authenticity of the food is there. This place definitely not bad to assuage one’s yearning for Penang street food.
Overall, for my first time over at Gurney Delight Cafe, I would recommend it to any of misses Penang food and would like to satisfy their cravings here. There were lots of other signature Penang dishes on the menu as well, so do check them out the next time you're in the vicinity of Kota Kemuning.
My favourite dish at Gurney Delight is the Asam Laksa (RM5.50), available on Fridays and Saturdays. Spicy, sour and sweet from the prawn paste, the noodles boasted a good texture and didn’t alter the flavour of the soup. Instead of fish shreds, you get large pieces of ikan kembung with your asam laksa here.
Rice with curry sauce, sambal, white cabbage and of course the juicy fried chicken! This plate cost me RM9.50 because the fried chicken itself is RM6.50. Wow! It is indeed pricey but once in a blue moon, still acceptable for the fried chicken.
I first blogged about this well-known Fried Chicken way back in 2008 (read that here). Mr Lim started his business as a stall in Wong Soon Kee Kopitiam in SS14 Subang Jaya and the queues for his fried chicken snaked all the way along the five-foot-way outside. I have been a fan all these years, [...…
Verdict: Still one of the tastiest fried chickens I’ve eaten.
Like many Chinese-style seafood restaurants, Soon Kee has an extensive menu of stir-fried (煮炒) dishes with emphasis on seafood like fish, shrimps and crabs.
Soon Kee Seafood Restaurant is a Chinese style restaurant which is famous for their fresh seafood with a cheap price tag and big portion size. However, be prepared for a noisy environment cause it is always there over crowded with customers.
Food took a while to arrive. I reckon we waited more than 30 minutes before we could eat. The Siong Tong La La packed a punch from the ginger and cili padi. The clams were fresh and well cleaned. I hate biting into sand when I eat clams so this was a winner for me.
Anyway, the restoran offers a good choice in their menu; I should think will be back for another visit soon to try their other dishes.
My favourite dish that night was the buttermilk squid, fried till crunchy perfection. This was very addictive, especially those lacy egg and milk bits. Smelt terrific too!
"Three season" - appetisers of a yam basket, shrimp stuffed chicken fillet and vermicelli-wrapped shrimp balls topped with a dollop of mayo each. These were so good... good yam baskets are hard to come by and here at Bei Ping, it was beautifuly made - fluffy mashed fragrant yam with no oily after-taste despite being fried.
The overpriced "Cham" which the kopitiam calls it "Cham 1+1" at $2.50 per small cup overrated!
my breakfast today was steam wholemeal bread with margarine.
The Croissant Ham & Cheese as breakfast brought me to Thong Kee Glenmarie again.
Not a bad place, reasonably priced at taste for an all-day Dim Sum location.
This is an all-day Dim Sum place from 7am to 11pm.
Lava Flow Egg Yolk Bun Looking for interesting dishes to try out? The Egg Yolk Bun is crowned as the most special dishes in Jin Xuan. Be careful with the first bite on this yellow bun, it will immediately gush out a piping lava consists of margarine egg yolk sauce that you might not want to miss it. Taste, needless to say, is heavenly.
店里的炸水饺,黑啤鸡翼和瓦煲翁菜等,也十分不错。
All in all, I think Restoran Hock Gee does well for in its Loh Mee and Hokkien Mee dishes. Considering serving size, I think the food here is reasonably priced too. However, the dining area is unpleasantly warm in the afternoon.
The Loh mee was very very good! The chef by default had added vinegar to the gravy itself, but if you need more to add to your tastebuds you can always add from the vinegar the provide on the table. After tasting one scoop, it was like no other loh mee I have tasted and personally I think it would be because they actually made the loh mee themselves and they really never added much boric acid to make the mee super chewy, unlike other noodle shops! Gravy-wise, it was thick and consistent, really flavousome! Nice nice.. must try!
Overall not bad for a bak kut teh fix should you happen to be around the neighbourhood and not feeling like going to Klang. You can opt for yam rice to go along with your bak kut teh here.
While Ah Seng’s operating hour starts at 7 am (yes, morning!) to 3 pm, it’s best to get there early to avoid disappointment. We had seen many customers getting turned away by 1.30pm because the bak kut teh was sold out. Actually, Ah Seng is my no.2 bak kut teh in the area. Hopefully, I can post about my no.1 soon, because it is constantly closed on weekends and public holidays.
While this wasn’t the worst bak kut teh I’ve eaten, it was nothing to shout about. Next time, I will make sure I get there by 11am, to try the much talked about Subang Teo Chew BKT.
