Admittedly, I frequent Johore Bahru quite often. And it came as a surprise when I told some friends and colleagues I was thinking of going to this seafood restaurant known as Todak, and many were aware of this place for the longest time!
After this, we went to Restoran Todak (Orang Asli) to have our dinner
Sambil duduk sambil lihat pemandngan laut. Seberang sana tu Singapura. Kalau waktu petang, kalau nasib korang baik, akan dapat lihat matahari terbenam, sangat cantik!.
At my first bite of the Fried Chicken flavoured with Dried Chilli, Garlic and Szechuan Pepper, I knew that even non-fans of fried chicken would just fall in love with this.
The All-you-can-eat dim sum at Wan Li is priced at RM64.15 per person with free flow of tie guan yin quality Chinese tea.
Paling ciksun recommend adalah Wok-fried Australian Wagyu Beef with Foie Gras and Asparagus, Grilled Lamb Rack with Homemade Pineapple Barbecue Sauce dan Fragrant Fried Chicken with Dried Chili, Garlic and "Szechuan" Pepper tu. Sedapp gilerrr Foie Gras dalam menu wagyu beef tu. Memula ciksun ingat lemak wagyu sebab memang rasa macam lemak daging yang dipanggang tapi dia ni bentuknya nampak seolah-olah pejal macam tauhu, bila gigit nah kauu cair juicy dalam mulut.
总的来说这里的点心美食色香味俱全
Why meet at the D’Shanghai dim sum restaurant? clean and hygience child-friendly restaurant ample of free parking lot
The pork was fresh and tasty. Prices were very competitive.
↗卤猪脚~这个是瘦肉比较多的卤猪脚~好吃
Verdict: Don’t really want to over-sell it too much, but one should really try this place out if they happen to be near Pasir Gudang. This is a great place for BKT and honestly gNOMe 1 prefers this place to the one in Klang. Again, not trying to over-sell it, but it IS good. Only downside is that they can be rather stingy with the soup, as refills usually come in a measly amount.

I like 江豐肉骨茶's take on Shoon Huat's savoury sweet herbal style of JB BKT.
Grand Seafood at Stellar Walk is Johor Bahru's newest seafood restaurant.
Permas Jaya Shi Wah bak kut teh is a good place in JB to taste brothy Johor style BKT with savoury herbal soup and very fresh pork.
A Kulai Sze Hwa style bak kut teh shop popular with JB folk. The broth leans on savoury (salty) with subtle herbal notes. The fresh tender meat is slightly firm.
Shoon Huat Bak Kut Teh has many branched in JB, but the main original store is where we are today. Choosing a variety of parts to put in our Claypot, the Bak Kut Teh has a clear soup, but the taste was lightly herbal and strong. A nice light taste which was delightful.

Overall, the dishes were flavourful and flavours were well balanced. The food were not overly sweet or salty, nor too greasy. Everything tasted just nice and ingredients were fresh.
It's not really wanton mee lah... or is it? But heck, it was so delicious and satisfying. Let's just say it's wanton mee with much better sauce.
His hor fun has wok hei and nice balanced savoury sweet flavours. Equally important, Mr. Tay's hor fun is a perfect complement to his poach/ roast chicken and sio bak.
肆源小炒 in Masai serves delicious "economic rice" style lunch that I won't get tired of.
When you crave for KL style wanton mee like I often do, Yap Ki Street wanton mee stall in Permas Jaya in JB can save you the trip to Kuala Lumpur.
