We honestly enjoyed all the dishes, and we must also commend the excellent service here. The staff are always so attentive and we liked how they actually prep the dishes individually – a service that’s mostly reserved for more high-end Chinese restaurants or wedding banquets.
KY & KB ordered quite a number of dishes; Kapitan Style Mixed Seafood, Flying Fish Thai-Style, Fried Kailan, Yam Basket, Braised Pork and Crab Fried Mee Hoon. The crab in the fried mee hoon were huge!. I have tried the same items back in Kuala Selangor but the crab there were slightly smaller. But the ones in this restaurant were meaty, fresh, tasty and HUGE! Though it can be pricey, but it's totally value for money. I am not a fan of petai, hence I did not try the 'Kapitan Style Mixed Seafood'. The deep-fried fish was crunchy to the last bite. I like dunking the fried bun into the braised pork gravy. I have to say that the dishes were absolutely delicious.
Deshelled prawns coated in Nestum flakes (small portion) at MYR 35 nett. Tasty dish but I prefer the shells at the tails be removed as well.
Tomato & Egg (Rm 9.5) My fave! My fave!!! Appeared in orangey-red and loaded with lots of ingredients, it was very appetising not just from the look but the taste as well! Sourish yet soupy. I drank the whole bowl of soup. Lovely!
What do We Like about Chef Hong Kitchen? -Unique chilled sweet and sour pork in ice bed -All the dishes were nicely and tasty done -Comfortable dining experience. We did not make a reservation during their full house night, the staff was helpful enough to slot us in for a table
It was a joyful evening and my lahling was very pleased. This is the sort food more to his liking compared to what he was feted to last year.
And so this Thai style steamed seafood dish comprising of prawns, squids and lala was ordered towards the end of the meal as someone's eating mode was activated with so much good food, teasing his papillae and exploding his taste buds to life. We were all stuffed to the gills but this dish really whetted our appetite and within minutes, everything was polished off as well.
If you’re looking for a good spot for Fish Head Noodles in PJ, Moon Kee is worth a visit. We really enjoyed the fresh fish slices (in both fried and poached versions), and found the flavours or the milky broth to be very balanced. The fried fish cake was quite pleasing too. The bee hoon was also served al-dente, which is to our preference.
Good combination with Mee Hoon. The grouper slices were fresh and sweet. You can expect the best and the freshest here.
Here’s one of my favourites – sliced abalone, fish balls, fish cakes and seaweed, with thick rice noodles. This is just RM7.50 for a bowl of steaming goodness.
As I am refraining from deep fried food due to a dry throat, I chose the safest option which is chicken with rice at MYR 16.90 nett. The rice portion is just a bit too much for me but I managed to finish all. The rice was not enough for my friends who ordered another rice dish.
Salmon + Greens + Calrose Rice + Sake Soup (RM28.90) It was the first time for me to try Calrose Rice which I mistaken for being brown rice or some healthy rice but turned out to be like sushi rice. The salmon was pan-fried till the edges are crispy which was delicious. The sake soup didn't have much sake taste, much to my disappointment. I guess the Pork Schnitzel set was much better.
♥Verdict: Good food good portion, wallet friendly and comfortable dining environment, certainly love to make a return if I need simple comfort food like these.
Save some space for the main highlights of the buffet which are 2 exquisite dishes, namely their Special Peking Duck and Roasted Pork dishes, both freshly prepared by their chefs.
We recently discovered that CELESTIAL DYNASTY SECTION 19 PETALING JAYA has recently launched its SUNDAY Dim Sum Brunch from as low at RM38.00+ for the senior citizen.
Curry Suckling Pig Always my favourite dish on a wedding banquet and Celestial Dynasty’s rendition certainly scored marks for novelty and flavours. The delicate crispy skin was very pleasingly delicious and the attached succulent meat infused with curry powder added fragrance to the bite.
Chee Cheong Fun, 4.50 ringgit. The Cheong Fun came in a generous portion too. For 4.50 ringgit, once everything is mixed up, it resembled the amount you would get if you ordered a Large plate elsewhere. It sure is cheap. I can literally spend under 10 ringgit here and be full, just order myself a plate of cheong fun + 3 yong tau foo items and I am sure it can last me till dinner. Love their Cheong Fun, the sauce is thick and sweetish, with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and fried bits of onions – it simply was delicious
Sedap sangat, sampai atasmeja panas pastu crunchy and tak soggy. Makan in the spot memang syahdu. Paling suka sebab dia tak berminyak sangat walaupun deep fried.
Kan Kee in JioSpace is a neat spot for a simple and tasty dinner. The food is good, the atmosphere is chill, and it’s convenient. If you’re around JioSpace and want a quick and delicious meal, give Kan Kee a shot.
Overall, our visit to Hua Xin Dessert was a delightful exploration. Each dessert we tried had its own unique charm, but if we had to pick favorites, it would definitely be the Signature Double Skin Milk and the intriguing Pandan Jelly Noodle. With every spoonful, we couldn’t help but be impressed by the creativity and skill behind these treats.
In conclusion, The Golden Time is a must-visit destination for anyone craving a taste of authentic Old Hong Kong cuisine.
My breakfast of 猪肉粉 Pork Noodle and 鸳鸯 Cham are of average taste at best.
Suckling piglet is another unforgettable dish for the whole meal. Please take note that advance order are require during such occasion and the preparation of this dish consumes time. The crispy skip just goes perfectly well with their special sauce that will tingle your taste buds. Rating: 9 /10
