Grouper Fish Head Curry Pot – RM113.40, the fish head was cut into pieces and cooked with curry, ladies fingers, tomatoes, onions and garnished with mint leaves. The curry fish head tasted fresh and was spicy. The taste of the curry was like home-style cooking which was hot and sourish.

Wu Jia's Curry Prawn with Bun is one of their popular dishes- fresh, plump Curry Prawns served with fluffy-soft deep fried Bun (to dip). The Curry flavor was very bold and rich... which went well with both Bun and Rice. It was not the monotonous type of Curry... probably with the addition of Onions and fresh Tomatoes for the extra acidity touch.

It may seem deceptively simple and ordinary but believe me, the flavor was robust, with its velvety smooth texture, it just slides down the throat in a jiffy, leaving a very strong but delightful after-taste in the palate. It was not sweet, with a hint of natural bitterness from the toasted Sesame seeds. Yes, it was that good,

Noodles are deeply rooted in our culinary consciousness, there is no one size fits all. There are a lot of varieties on offer and they can come in different size, color, shape, texture as well as flavor. Typically, Pan Mee (a type of Hakka Noodles) is served in the shape of thin, round and smooth texture but Ah Ma Pan Mee, a newly opened Pan Mee specialist at 4th Street Club (Tye Sin Street) decides to do things differently. Using traditional recipe from Pahang, the noodle joint offers Pan Mee in its own style. While the soup bases and condiments are similar, the noodles stand out. They come in irregularly fat-round shape with al-dente (slightly chewy and bouncy) texture. The menu is not big but the air-conditioned restaurant offers a comfortable dining space for hungry diners to have a quick fix; definitely a place where fans of Pan Mee should check out.

It's no secret that Butterworth is home to a few good restaurants that serve delicious Poached Chicken and one of the oldest names in this "expertise" is May Fong Restaurant at Kampung Benggali, Butterworth. It's impossible to miss the place during lunch hours, the place is often thronged with regular patrons especially during weekends. Families bringing the old and young is a common sight here, it is possibly the de-facto dining place for those living in the neighborhood. The menu is small here, in fact, only Poached Chicken and Wan Ton.... with Rice or Ipoh-styled Hor Fun (with add-ons like blanched Sprouts or Vegetables) but more than enough to entice the crowd. The best time to visit would be around 11 am or expect to wait for at least half an hour before your orders are served.

Tea Hall (堂茶茶艺馆) is a time-honored restaurant that has been around for years... most of its businesses are by referral, the place sees constant gathering by a group of Chinese Tea-aficionados. Tummy-filler was their signature Dong Bei Noodles, served with Minced Pork and crunchy diced Cucumber. The real soul to the dish was the Minced Pork- delicately seasoned right on the dot while the noodles were carefully cooked to the right texture. The Cucumber on the other hand, introduced another crunchy-juicy dimension to the dish; even better to go with their smoky Chili paste. We ended the meal with a memorable sweet treat- Sesame Bun. The Bun was served to us scorching hot; apply pressure and you will find the molten Sesame filling oozes out from the bun. The crust was nicely done- thin with a tawny crisp while the filling was carefully sweetened; it was jaw-droppingly good.
