On the other hand, the Nyonya Dumpling (RM 6.80) is not bad. It offers a fair balanced of sweet and savoury taste. It has been some time we did not see Nyonya dumpling on restaurant menu.

What better way to warm your bodies and stuff yourself with tasty food other than having Steamboat (Hot Pot)? This new kid in town has fast become one of the favorites for mid-class dwellers; with up to 8 types of soup bases to choose from. Classic soup bases like Pig Bone Soup and Tom Yum are available with a few exquisite and innovative offering for the adventurous, worth-mentioning are Milk Cheese Soup, Green Spicy Soup, Spicy Milk Soup etc. Soup bases aside, Tu Go Liang stands out in terms of the variety of steamboat offering; notable highlights include their home-made Yong Tofu, various types of Fish and Meat Balls, vegetables, meat and seafood. The atmosphere is casual here- the heat intolerant may opt to dine-in the air-conditioned room while those who prefer a more outdoorsy ambiance could choose the al-fresco dining area.

A bowl of Seafood Curry Tok Tok Mee is loaded with a flavorsome curry broth along with a huge prawn, clams, and a plate of deep-fried fish fillet. Chilli paste plays an important role in curry mee and the combination of it adds great flavor and aroma to the dish. The spiciness of the chili paste will make you sweat, so add gradually.

Start with the Signature Beef Tok Tok which our choice of noodle was Wan Ton Noodles, the broth was thick and rich, with a bold Tomato flavor and a touch of sweetness. There were chunks of Beef, braised Radish and some Beef Balls. It was quite comfortable on the palate and we were happy with the lovely al-dente texture of the noodles.

Both Hua Diao Marinated Pork Belly Rice (RM 8.90) and Hakka Style Braised Pork Rice (RM 8.90) are truly meant for carnivorous person. When the bowl of rice is served in front of you, you can practically see the glittering surface of the pork glazed by the rich sauces. On top of that, you can see there are generous quantity of pork belly served for each portion.

Noodles are deeply rooted in our culinary consciousness, there is no one size fits all. There are a lot of varieties on offer and they can come in different size, color, shape, texture as well as flavor. Typically, Pan Mee (a type of Hakka Noodles) is served in the shape of thin, round and smooth texture but Ah Ma Pan Mee, a newly opened Pan Mee specialist at 4th Street Club (Tye Sin Street) decides to do things differently. Using traditional recipe from Pahang, the noodle joint offers Pan Mee in its own style. While the soup bases and condiments are similar, the noodles stand out. They come in irregularly fat-round shape with al-dente (slightly chewy and bouncy) texture. The menu is not big but the air-conditioned restaurant offers a comfortable dining space for hungry diners to have a quick fix; definitely a place where fans of Pan Mee should check out.

The pleasant aroma of the hot pot, along with the clever garnishing of sesame and peanuts make it addictive further. Besides, addition of egg also increased the aroma. Somehow, the flavour offer a glimpse of Szechuan taste but has been localized to Malaysians' general taste buds.

One of the dish that we miss the most from Taiwan would be their Minced Pork Rice. The portion is relatively small, exactly like the conventional portion offered in regular restaurants in Taiwan and the price is affordable too - just RM 8.00. The rice is topped with aromatic braised pork, braised egg and some vegetables. Flavour is simple and nice.

Feed Me Love's Hot Pot series would satisfy any big eaters, the serving portion is huge with a basket of Hot Pot ingredients as well as a bowl of White Rice. We had the Collagen Hot Pot... the seemingly healthy broth was delicious with a mild vegetable-sweetness but we did not feel a strong presence of the protein (Collagen), as though we were having ordinary healthy Hot Pot broth. The basket of Hot Pot ingredients are fixed but diners have the option to choose between Pork or Chicken.

The plate of barbeque pork and roasted pork is a sight to behold. The slices of meat are cut into a good bite size, thick enough to taste. The nicely caramelised barbeque pork imbued with flavors and aromas is apparently big hits with diners. The Chinese wine and many types of marinating spices provided an interesting play of taste and flavors to the tender and tasty meat.

The Fish Balls were lovely with a firm, meaty texture and bold fish flavor; this also went well with the clean tasting soup. It is a nasi lemak stall operated by Chinese located at Xen Teck Cafe along Weld Quay. You can select different dishes to complement the fragrant coconut rice (white rice is available too), but the fried chicken and their unique sambal is a must have! Do not underestimate the bit of seemingly not lethal. It is burning hot, yet a bit of it will spice up the flavour of the nasi lemak. On top of that, we really enjoyed the tenderness meat of the fried chicken, and a little char of it somehow enhanced its taste.

If you do not take spicy food then Pork Broth Ramen would be your only option. The broth registered a rather bold meaty Pork-taste; the noodles were silky smooth but lacked of the al-dente texture.
