Chew Jetty Cafe is one of the coffee shops that is packed with exciting Penang food. The 3 flavored wantan mee and also charcoal fried char koay teow.
Overall, the wantan mee here is nice and unique as you can have all 3 flavors in one plate. Most importantly, it is value for money as the portion is big. For those that would like to have more, just ask the friendly boss, Winner Ho and he will be more than willing to top up for you without additional charges.
🍜 Join us on a culinary journey through time as we visit Monster Wantan Mee, a legendary eatery that has been serving up classic Wantan Mee for 57 years! Originally located on Jalan Victoria and now nestled in Hai Leok Cafe 海隆茶室 on Pengkalan Weld, this hidden gem continues to delight patrons with its affordable yet delicious offerings.
Nevertheless. the RM 1 for the bowl of Wantan Soup is totally worth it. It comes with 10 pieces of Wantan with generous filling, and we can feel the pork aroma with every bite into the wantan. If you did not order noodle and only order a bowl of Wantan soup, it will cost RM 3.60 instead. This is a key factor that drives many returning customers perhaps?
It is a nasi lemak stall operated by Chinese located at Xen Teck Cafe along Weld Quay. You can select different dishes to complement the fragrant coconut rice (white rice is available too), but the fried chicken and their unique sambal is a must have! Do not underestimate the bit of seemingly not lethal. It is burning hot, yet a bit of it will spice up the flavour of the nasi lemak. On top of that, we really enjoyed the tenderness meat of the fried chicken, and a little char of it somehow enhanced its taste.
Chen Lau Tou (Uncle Tan) is a new stall at Heng Fatt Cafe. This is a new stall where the owner came back from Singapore to start his own business. Uncle Tan is selling fish head, fillet, or mantis prawn bihun in clear soup, tomyam, or dry fried version. The ingredients are fresh while the soup is flavourful, especially Tomyam.
The taste of Hokkien Mee here is very classic and nostalgic, the soup is cooked by charcoal while the chili paste is made from scratch. The taste of the Hokkien mee is balanced with shrimp and pork ribs flavoured while it is also topped with boiled shrimps which is savory and yummy.
