What do We Like about Restoran Ahwa PJ 222? -The many variety of foods serve by the various stalls. Everyone will find what they like for dinner or supper -The bright and airy environment even though there are many stalls preparing the food. We did not feel the stuffiness at all
Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Mee is one of our favourite noodles. Restaurant Ahwa (新青山亚华福建面) located in Jalan 222, Petaling Jaya serves one of the best Hokkien Mee, and it has been our favourite go-to place to satisfy our Hokkien Mee cravings.
Another excellent lard-laden dinner with brother and nephews in Petaling Jaya.Lor mee, Cantonese hor fun and vermicelli, Cantonese egg noodles and the unpara...
To me, the simplest style of Chee Cheong Fun is always the best. Not as a meal but as breakfast or a quick snack. So, this CCF from Hai Keng is rather different, probably due to the stickiness of the texture and the sourness of the pickled chillies.
I think the "传统猪肠粉 Traditional Chee Cheong Fun" should be good because after my "三间庄猪肉丸粉 Pork ball Noodle" came then only it opens at around 7:30am+; and soon it opens for business, customers already queening up to order. My lunch of Pork ball Noodle today average at best.
This Nyonya style Curry Noodle 酸酸辣辣 Spicy and Sour and 比较油腻 a bit oily, beautifully presented and I liked it here as well compared to its "HQ stall" at USJ 2.
The Restoran is a old-time Kopitiam maybe since 70s, not sure any owner changes but it has been around for as long as I know.
Food is cheap here, 8 ringgit each yawwwww!. Food tasted as delicious as it looks. I’ve got nothing else to say. The vegetables were awesome, the meat was flavorful and tender, the Chinese style Mee Hoon was a good replacement for rice, the Indian gravies were rich and filled with spices. It all worked real well, I ate like a pig and I most probably will do so again during my next visit. Burp!
Attention Penang curry mee lovers, you should know that the Kuantan Road Penang curry mee in OUG is now available in PJ too.
What do We Like about Cu Cha Dan Fan 粗茶淡饭 ? -The boiled sliced beefs -The authentic spicy mala cuisine
If you’re looking for a taste of old-school curry mee, do check out Lum Kee Laksa. We definitely recommend the laksa Siam for something different and unique.
Dinner turned out to cost less than RM 10 per person including the fried chicken and drinks. Though the hokkien mee was a bit of a let down, I’d come back here for the chicken wings and cantonese noodle, and oh, the drinks too!
We add MYR 1 nett to change the plain white rice to a bowl of yam rice. The soup is tasty but the pieces of coconut are too tough to be eaten
Just a bowl of Trotter Vinegar with an egg (MYR 8 nett), a bowl of brown rice (MYR 2 nett) and a plate of vegetables without any gravy or oil (MYR 3 nett). I prefer this trotter vinegar dish to the one I ate at Pop Corn because it is not too sweet.
Signature Fish Soup Set at MYR 15 nett with rice and vegetables. Good value for money. I am not sure what fish it is but I can tell from the taste that it is not dory fish. The soup tastes nice so I drank all of it but kept half the rice and fish for another meal.
Crowds favourite, Duck egg Char Koey Teow @ RM 12.90 is surprisingly good. Filled with wok hei and for a Halal version, it is worth to be recommended.
River Home Seafood restaurant in Jaya We were here for this fresh crabs promotion of MYR 48.80 for 3 fresh crabs but they were out of stock so we chose to still eat here but without the crabs. So sad.
