Before and After - fascinating that we managed to cleaned everything up! Although the atmosphere and environment weren't as nice and comfortable as Sum Dim Sum, the dim sum here were actually pretty good. Would be back again; hopefully with my parents to try other signature dim sum at Dim Sum Haus Sg !
Dim Sum Haus in Jalan Besar. Check out their Seasonal Menu!
The Japanese dumpling, is a twist to the usual spicy wantons. Nice and of a good sized but I prefer the original sauce for that spicy kick.
Overall, it is a decent experience. If you can't get a seat at Swee Choon Tum Sum, this is always a decent option. It opens daily and till late for Friday and Saturday.
No doubt that their dim sum was freshly made with traditional recipes, there are still many competitors out there for their dim sum which can be better and worth the money spent. The time we spent in the queue did not make justice to our meal here. Perhaps, it's best to make a reservation before heading down there.
This was a satisfying birthday lunch and no doubt I would be back again! Three items deserved a re-order and they shall be the Wolfberry with Mushroom Siew Mai, the Signature Hot & Spicy Dumplings and the Signature Pandan Crispy Pork Bun!
Swee Choon Tim Sum is one of Singapore's oldest Dim Sum restaurants.
Swee Choon has been one of my to go to places for supper since my clubbing days.
Legendary 58-year-old Dim Sum Specialist Swee Choon Launches Its First-ever Truffle Xiao Long Bao
Would love to be back soon! Maybe with one basket of otah and another basket of curry siew mai. And maybe more deep fried items. Plus, of course, the yummy lava buns!
I like what I had; consistency was smooth although flavor was on the bland side. What I enjoyed most was that there were plenty of ingredients inside, and the generous amount of century eggs definitely enhanced the flavor of the congee! Only thing I regretted, not adding an egg!
Happy Congee, 滿粥了, porridge, jalan besar
Their food ordering system felt out of place. There was no physical menu and we were asked to browse what they had via their website.
An absolute cannot-miss, the Signature Char Siew ($18 for 300gm) was decadent, sinful, and all kinds of delicious. Sticky, luscious, melty, it was redolent of honeyed nuance and smoky char.
The restaurant also carries a respectable range of ciders and ales for diners to complement their meal with.
Hand in Hand Beijing Restaurant allows you to enjoy a range of dumplings and popular Northern Chinese cuisine at reasonable prices.
I liked the cabbage salad. Doused generously with vinegar, it's an enjoyable cold dish with crunchy soft jelly fish texture.
Food at Shou La Shou / Hand In Hand is traditional Northern Chinese cuisine, focusing on the regions of Beijing, Sichuan, Shanghai, and Shandong.
Nice and delicately thin crusty crispy outside with the ikan bilis providing a good crunch, and warm, juicy and meaty with a good briny seafood flavour, with the minced meat, earthy greens, oyster and prawn inside.

The food portions at Quan Xin Yuan were good and we spent about $35 per pax for 6 dishes, inclusive of tea and service charge.
Food at Quan Xiang Yuan is Chinese Zi Char, specialising in Chinese Hokkien cuisine with a smattering of Teochew dishes. Dishes are made using age-old family recipes, some of which is still painstakingly put together by hand. Quality is consistently good, as evident through the regulars.
Cheap and good Hainanese curry rice is the main attraction of Beach Road Scissor-Cut Curry Rice restaurant at Jalan Besar.
It is, however, worth it, especially for the price. I wouldn’t make a trip all the way down, but if I were in the area, Scissors Cut would be pretty high on my list of dining options.
What these guys are also known for are their lu rou fan (卤肉饭). Minced braised fatty pork belly with gravy on rice. It's good on it's own or with their chilli sauce.
The portions were easily shared between a table of four. Lunch was expectedly mad oily, and after that, we had to guzzle a ton of water to balance it out.
The panfried dumplings 生煎包 here is the best i had.
We found the food at Xiang Yuan Ji unpretentious, and if you are into a no-frills and decent Shanghainese food, this is worth a try. Just look beyond the simple furnishing of the restaurant.
Lao Liang in Jalan Berseh Food Centre serves one of the best kway chap or stewed pork offal with rice sheets in Singapore.
Try it before such food items are disappearing or before it loses its traditional roots. Perhaps the next round when I have more stomach space, I will like to try the Pork Trotter Jelly.
ngoh hiang was great, but this delightful prawn noodles was really something. i will surely come back for this prawn noodles.
I felt that such style of Fish Soup does not really suit me. I will prefer a clearer soup with the usual freshness of the fish.
Even without the special chilli, the price point of the yong tau foo makes this such a great find.
Kong Kee is one of the handful of Chinese mutton soup stalls remaining in Singapore. If you like old school mutton soup that is mildly savoury herbal and gamey, this is for you.
I left Berseh Food Centre pleased, and feeling exceptionally healthy.
Da Jie Famous Wanton Noodle is indeed one of the best Wanton Noodle I ever had.
