Food is pretty good, but pretty expensive as well (average RM 50 per dish)
Lamb Fried Rice with Curried Marrow Bones, 36 ringgit. Ooooooo Yessssss ! Still as delicious, mouth wateringly delicious. It still gets my tongue wagging. You’d get a plate of flavorful, spiced Basmati rice with cashews, fried garlic and onions, generous portions of chewy mini pieces of lamb meat scattered all over with papadoms and gravy filled bone marrow and some yogurt + shallots on the side. This is sooo worth giving a go. Each spoonful of this fried rice was soooo yummy, I just couldnt stop. I ate and ate and literally left the place squeky clean, spotless. It was everything I ever wanted when I am imagining kambing fried rice. Certainly coming back for more.
Reasons to visit: comfort food in a casual setting; friendly service; fabulous platters such as the Dips & Spreads are perfect for sharing over a few drinks with friends; Norwegian Salmon with Honey Lemon Soy; Lamb Fried Rice with Curried Marrow Bones.
Verdict: Perhaps we’d ordered the wrong dishes, our dining experience at The Brew House was merely satisfying but I really like the salted egg fish skin and highly recommend it.
For the final snack, I had the Porky Platter (Rm25.80). This dish consist of sliders with luncheon meat and char grilled pork, sticky ribs and roast pork. For someone who want to sample four different type of pork, this is for you. I enjoyed the sticky ribs and roast pork the most. Although the roast pork skin is not super crispy but I think it is passable for my own standard.
The Brew House 最近成了我非常爱去的地方;不管是聚餐,还是小酌,携老还是带幼,这里都非常适合。
The restaurant offers several popular Japanese Beers as well as Sake; the menu is quite extensive but looks a little pricey.
The Bar Restaurant opens from lunch time offering western (I think some Mexican entrees as well) and some local dishes, beer bites and a full bar.
My Personal Opinion Certainly an ideal destination to consider if you want to chill with nice wines, good music, live performance in an easy-going atmosphere. It's a great place to wind down your evening with a little wine sipping and light conversation with friends or colleagues after a hard day's work....and oh, don't forget a side indulgence of something chocolaty while you're at it! ^o^
Next comes the tapas - this Avocado Garlic Chilli Prawns Bruschetta; sounds like a mouthful but this is really a very delicious dish. The name describe all there is about this dish, but still it does not do it justice, it was more than it's long name!
Reasons to visit Soma Cocktail Bar TTDI: a quality craft cocktail bar in TTDI; personally tailored cocktails; excellent twists on classics.
Porto Romano is a 2-shop lot F&B in TTDI offering Italian/Mediterranean cuisines plus lots of wine selections, liquor and beer.
Deep Dive is my favourite, made of a dose of liquor, pineapple juice, lemon juice and a little bit of sugar syrup. Full of citrusy note and tasted like summer!
Reasons to visit: From the menu, the Chinese Cinderella was unlike anything we’ve tasted before. From off-menu, Mr Darkside was everything you want in a drink, but the real winner was the Smokey Old Fashioned. Like everything at The Pawn Room, they do old fashioned (with a twist) so very well!
Reasons to visit Justwine TTDI: Three simple words – Pork Belly Sisig; the incredible selection of wines at near wholesale prices means you are bound to find a great bottle without breaking the bank to do so; the Salted Egg Chicken and Chilli Crab are flat out amazing; listening to live music in such a funky and cool environment is a perfect way to sip a nice glass of wine any day of the week.
My Personal Opinion Though the yakitori seems reasonably priced from RM5 to RM18 per stick, the fact remains that you'll need quite a few sticks to be full. Imagine you're eating satay, if you need 10 sticks to be full, you'll need 10 skewers of meat...and at an average price of RM10 - RM12 a stick, you do the math, the amount can add up very quickly. Even I can easily down 10 sticks, so you can imagine how many sticks the more ferocious eaters may need. But since the skewers weren't that successful anyway (other than the wings), I'd probably stick to their Japas and donburi offerings with a few occasional skewers. Still a good place to unwind, over the weekend or after work, with a couple of Japas in one hand and a beer or sake in the other! ^_^
Reasons to visit: my favorites weres the Japanese pizza and savoury Pan Seared Tuna with Foie Gras; Caning’s top pick was the Stone Grilled Sirloin; and Mon found comfort in the Ishiyaki Bowl.
Overall, I’d say my experience here was oddly satisfying. There were several things that did not coincide with my vision/idea of a banana leaf meal but it was tasty and flavorful.
Next up on the lunch menu, it's the Chicken Cordon Bleu (RM18). I am a fan of this dish with a generous amount of roll chicken with ham and cheese oozing out of the filling. The chicken was surprisingly tender although it wasn't warm anymore by the time I took a bite out of it.
PEDAS TERBAKAR TENGGIRI FISH BANANA LEAF (MYR 25 FOR SHARING PORTION) Thick slab of mackerel fish nicely marinated in special chili paste, air asam before grilled to perfection and perfectly paired with white rice. The spice relish is special and robust in flavor, and yet not too spicy, so it’s suitable for everyone.
Both craft beer, I think are brewed in Australia. Done for the week!
PAUS, by far offers Happy Hour Craft Beer sessions from 5-8pm at rm$5 off for all Craft Beers and if you want Craft Beer buffet, its either rm$50 or rm$100 (can't remember) for unlimited cans of Monkey's Uncle for 2 hours!
For snacks I would be recommending: 1. any of their Roast Pork Series as it is pretty good. 2. Squid 3. Signature Mezasoba for mains
Reasons to visit Interlude TTDI: value for money; friendly neighbourhood vibe; must try the Boar Burger, House Steak, and Hoppers with Mutton; cheap, cold beer all day, every day.
