Gaston serves real French food in a friendly and lively environment in Singapore’s Chinatown. This restaurant is on Keong Saik Road.
All of the starters were must-tries: the Foie Gras Poêlé ($33) of pan-seared foie gras was excellent.
Gaston's steak tartare was not bad.
Dinner was rounded off with a duo of "petit fours", a Banana Cream Shortbread with chrysanthemum petals, and a Coconut Marshmellow.
I liked it so much that I was slurping up that savory ginger-laced marinade afterwards along with small wads of rice. I'm curious to see what his normal menu is like once the restaurant re-opens, although I suspect that the prices may be out of my league.
I simply love the way how service were rendered throughout my dining even at the counter bar. Emptied plates were consistently cleared with friendly services even from the chef. I recommend this place for those who want to experience a different dining or on a special date.

Taratata Bistrot was a recommendation by a friend. She likes their cooking, which is traditional and straightforward, and its warm, cosy atmosphere.
