Overall, the ambience is almost worth coming back for; the food definitely is, with every dish hitting its spot. In fact, it’s worth going out of your way for.
My friend recommended Mushroom Ularthiyathu at MYR 19.80 nett and it was delicious! All dishes are slightly spicy and very tasty with the various fragrant spices used to cook them.
Very spacious seating area and good service
Malaysia dengan Mamak ni memang sinonim.. Makan & review merata, end up mamak jugak jadi our comfort food..hehehe Nak highlight something special kat Mamak Mosin in TTDI.. Roti Naan biasa la kalau kat kedai lain, pastu ada la garlic naan, cheese naan.. Kat Mosin ni diorang dah modify, garlic & cheese naan..jadi Mumtaz Naan..
Set Lunch No. 5 – Butter Chicken, 15.90 ringgit Food was good, yawwww. I was impressed. Usually, when it comes to set lunches, the serving size shrinks, right? It is a common occurrence at indian restaurants but not here though. The Butter Chicken was delicious. They filled up a mini bowl to its maximum capacity, with lots of chicken meat in it. The gravy was warm and thick. It had a nice, pleasant taste to it.Besides the chapatis and butter chicken, the set also came with a generous portion of dhal (just how I liked it) – thick and filled with lentils, a cucumber salad, papadum and sweet custard. I was pleased, truly. It was more than what I expected.
We dig into the moist biryani rice to find succulent pieces of chicken, young coconut flesh and a hard-boiled egg, cooked to perfection. It's aromatic with the spices together with the distinct flavours of the coconut in their briyani rice.
For us, we tasted ad the Chicken Briyani. Due to the use of coconut flesh in cooking this Briyani, it has a slightly sweeter taste than the classic Nasi Briyani which is more savoury in its flavour.
This coconut briyani is served on a banana leaf with a side of pickles and hard-boiled egg And I having my favourite mutton Briyani, The mutton thigh is super soft an tender. Made of spices, rice, meat, and veggies, it is definitely a mainstay in Malaysian cuisine, loved by many.
Bone Marrow Mutton Curry (RM12.50 for 2 pieces) The curry was indeed addictive and for those that love the finger licking goodness can chew off the tendon and muscular meat of the bone and not forgetting to suck off all the marrow from the inner bones. Take note this delicacy is only available on Wednesday, Weekends and Public Holiday.
Verdict: Overall, service is friendly and the banana leaf rice was decent.
This time around, their Sambar tasted better than my last visit. It was a little more concentrated and they seemed to be generous with the ingredients. Similarly, their Vegetable Kulambu was to my liking as well. Both curries deserve a rating of 8/10.
Their Mutton is also equally good and they are usually lean cuts without any bones. Again, the Masala is just amazing and goes so well with the rice. My rating for their Mutton shall be 9/10.
[Pork-free] Happy New Year! As per tradition, we start our year with Banana Leaf Rice (BLR) as our first meal. For 2024, we decided to check out Jamun Restaurant at Glo Damansara in TTDI. To be honest, we thought the BLR here was just ok.
The overall verdict? The food was tasty, and the ambience was welcoming. We’re already eyeing a few other dishes on the menu that we can’t wait to try next time. Jamun, you’ll definitely be seeing us again soon!

As mentioned in the Menu, the Banana Leaf Rice Set includes rice of choice + 4 types of vegetables + curries + papadum + chutney + rasam + pickle + kesari. My banana leaf set came with everything except pickle, chutney and dry chilli. Perhaps they forgot?? I did not realise the missing items until I was back home writing this review. To me, it was no biggie, I enjoyed the rice just fine. They had 6 choices for curries – chicken, fish, salted fish, crab, onion and sambar. I opted for some chicken and onion curry. The gravies were flavorful and pretty thick. I also ordered Chicken Maharaja Varuval on the side. For this dish, you’d get about 6,7 pieces of tender, juicy chicken pieces. It sure was flavorful, you’d be able to taste spices as well as tamarind. Yummy.
Fish Briyani, 19 ringgit. This was tastefull too. You would basically get similar ingredients that accompanied the chicken briyani except for the meat, of course. Here, you would get yourself a tender, flavorful fish. Yummy. The only downside to this dish was that compared to the chicken briyani, which came with plenty of gravy, which in turn made the whole dish moist, this dish came with a lack of gravy. This meant that the rice was not moist as briyani rice should be, the rice here was pretty dry. However, worry not. They were more than willing to to provide you with gravy/curry of your choice. With the gravy, this dish was pretty good.
Fried Maggi 5.50 ringgit This was your usual ‘mamak’ style fried Maggie. I’ve got no complaints about this dish. It was tasty and yummy.
