Overall,it was a good dinner for us. We polished off everything in the plate, it's that good. Initially, I thought I ordered too many dishes for 3 people but at the end I know I made the right decision.

For something memorable from MTR 1924, you must try their MTR’s Rava Idli. This particular food item was invented by its founder, Yagnanarayana. During World War II when India was hit by the great Bengal famine resulting in the short supply and rationing of rice, Yagnanarayana modified his idlis with semolina flour (rava) to replace the rice idly turning them into a filling and healthy steamed savoury cakes that go down in history.

Our Lobster Biryani @ RM280 was served in a large steel pot, sealed with pastry dough which locks up the flavours while cooking. This dish was so massive the staff had to use a trolley to send the large steel pot over to your table. Taste wise we thought it was simply delicious and imparted a unique sweetness which can’t be replaced with Chicken, Mutton or Lamb. This hint of sweetness which came from the Lobster helped elevate the dish to a different level compared to other biryanis. The lobster by itself was fresh and succulent and had that delicious tender bite.

The best value for money is still the Thali (rice, chapati, vegetables) for MYR 10. The mutton bir (mutton biryani with vegetables) is just average.

Rice + 4 Vegetables + Papadum, 6 ringgit, Chicken Varuval, 8 ringgit, Sura Puttu, 6 ringgit, Fish Cutlet, 5 ringgit = 25 ringgit. Loved every single ingredient on the leaf. Yum! The vegetable option for the day was spinach, cucumber, bittergourd and brinjal. Delicious. The chicken curry was da bomb. Spicy and thick, flavorful, guaranteed to tickle your tastebuds with every single mouth you take. The meats was awesome as well. Couldnt have asked for a better wholesome Indian lunch.

This is a famous banana leaf rice place that I did not know about so my friends took me there for lunch one day. True enough, it was very tasty with very crispy deep fried squid which is a must-order. We shared the meat dishes such as curry mutton, deep fried fish and chicken. As you can see, the Chicken Lunch Set comes with a full pack of white rice + chicken curry with 4 pieces of meaty, juicy chicken + long beans + thick lentil filled sambar + cucumber salad. Food was delicious. There was a nice variety of dishes that came with the set, it all tasted yummy and flavorful.

The Mutton Bone Marrow Curry was just awesome. Being a buffet spread, you could take as much as you want and me being a mutton lover, I was simply in ecstasy. Taste wise, the thick spice gravy was just superb and I would rate this at 10/10

Will I be back? Well, I don’t see anything that appeals to me on the breakfast menu nor the lunch. Lunch is simply rice (or puttu /iddiyappam) with sides while dinner is just kottu again, though with choices of puttu, iddiyappam or roti. However, I don’t mind returning on a Sunday for their RM38/pax Sunday lunch buffet. I was promised authentic Sri Lankan crab curry and unlimited curries.

On the whole, I enjoyed the dining moments here today. Their service was really good and I received my food in less than 15 minutes. Their courtesy was also great and I am sure that they have been reminded to treat their customers with respect. Ooo man, the Garlic Cheese Naan was sooo goooood! It felt like I was eating an Indian Pizza, lol. There were plenty of things I loved about this roti. One being that the roti as a whole was somewhat thick but dense, a soft texture. Secondly, there were quite a bit of cheese filling and more than a generous portion of garlic sprinkled on the top. It was really good. It was one of those dishes that I can have it in its own. I didn’t need any gravies to go with it. If you like this particular naan, then this is a must try, guys.

My favorite dish was surprisingly the Baighan Bartha (RM10). Grilled just right to retain the plumpness of the brinjal, it was rich in spices and seasoned very well. It wasn't mashed as per usual but the texture was really nice as is.

My friend recommended Mushroom Ularthiyathu at MYR 19.80 nett and it was delicious! All dishes are slightly spicy and very tasty with the various fragrant spices used to cook them.

Murgh Bombay Bohri Briyani, 50 ringgit. This was delicious yawwwwww. The rice was moist and soft + tender bits of chicken scattered all over and contrary to the usual, I did not even need to add gravy in. The moistness and softness + spices and flavor from the briyani rice was just right that there was no need to add on gravy in hopes of adding flavor. No need at all. The chicken pieces were tender and the meat almost drops of the bone. What better combination can I ask for? Yummm !

When dining in a Indian restaurant like this, Briyani is always a MUST TRY. The Chicken Briyani was beautifully presented and is part of what made this dish so special. The chutney and yogurt on the side was certainly a good touch and adds so much depth.

A Thali Set at MYR 31.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 35.09 nett). This set consists of Fish Curry, Chicken Curry (Kadai Chicken), Lamb Curry (Lamb Roganjosh), Potato Curry (Alo Mutter), Okra Onion Stir Fry (Bindi do Pyaaza), Tomato Dal (Tomato Pappu Dal), Phirni dessert I ate all of the dessert but only a bit of the rice, butter naan, each of the savoury dishes and kept most of it for my other meals. The lamb is tender and the curries are very flavourful with the taste of different spices so I will definitely be back for their other dishes.

Hyderabad Nizam Biriyani (Chicken), 24.90 ringgit. I especially lurveee the biriyani. It is one of those dishes that had just the right amount of wetness, gooeyness and filled with flavor, to an extent that you can forego the gravies that came on the side because between the rice and the chicken – there was enough spices and flavors to go around. Know what I mean? That being said, the gravies were yummy too. The dhal was delicious and most importantly thick. I dislike watered down dhal – it is gross. Then, there was mooru/yogurt and pickled, sweetish vegetables. It was tasty enough that I ate the 3 sides on its own. I had the biriyani rice and the chicken by itself. The chicken was da bomb. They sure were generous with the meat here – 2 large pieces. Imagine those spice infused tender, meaty chicken + flavorful, moist biriyani rice – very nice. It was a satisfying hearty meal.

We all had a jolly good time here. The food was da’ bomb. It is hard to pin point the exact difference but I am sure we all can agree that there is a difference between a homecooked meal and something eaten in a restaurant. Overall, it was a perfect supper for us. Food was superb and NO service charge and NO GST add an additional bonus to it. But their service is a drawback for me. The staff who took our order has no proper English Knowledge so my sister face difficulties in getting Chutney for her Thosai. According to the staff, the shop is managed by the owner of WTF, Bangsar. I never tried WTF before so after my delicious meal here. I really wish to drop by WTF for a meal.

The specialty here is their Mutton Briyani. Very huge portions and I would say that it is good to feed two people. Prices are very reasonable since it is a set up that mainly caters for the foreigners The Briyani rice was so tasty and I did not even need the gravy that was provided. The mutton chunks were so soft and tender as well. If I were to rate this Briyani, I shall definitely give it 8/10.

The queue starts approximately about 12pm during lunch hour. The food replenishes very quickly due to the demand - especially the vegetables. Very simple Indian economy rice which is definitely better than some pretentious Nasi Kandar. One portion of chicken, two portions of vegetable and their curry is enough.

Overall, a decent BLR meal though I wouldn't be rushing back here anytime soon as there are many much better ones around KL. However, it's a good place to catch up with friends as it is not too busy and they serve a pretty nice masala tea (RM4.50).

Briyani itself was sufficiently moist and the mutton came with some really delicious and thick gravy that I very much enjoyed. The amount of meat in the Briyani was quite a lot as well. The flavours were well balanced and neither one overpowered the other. Loved it for sure and my rating for this Lotus Leaf Mutton Briyani shall be 8/10

Fish Briyani, 19 ringgit. This was tastefull too. You would basically get similar ingredients that accompanied the chicken briyani except for the meat, of course. Here, you would get yourself a tender, flavorful fish. Yummy. The only downside to this dish was that compared to the chicken briyani, which came with plenty of gravy, which in turn made the whole dish moist, this dish came with a lack of gravy. This meant that the rice was not moist as briyani rice should be, the rice here was pretty dry. However, worry not. They were more than willing to to provide you with gravy/curry of your choice. With the gravy, this dish was pretty good.
