HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This is Max’s favourite for years, and it remained consistently good.

The location wasn't very desirable but I would consider it as hygienic enough for rotating vans. Since the weather was pretty sunny and hot, some of the customers opt. to eat in their own cars, with the air conditioning as a hideout from the scorching sun. The portion was somewhat large as you can see below. We ended up with the basic Rojak Telur with the price of RM 4.50. I would say that the best part of the rojak was its lightly spicy sauce and the ever-amazing tauhu.
Banana leaf rice is a must try and I would recommend to try out their fried chicken, ayam varuval, kambing varuval, tauhu sambal, spicy prawn, ikan tenggiri, ikan kerisi, sotong goreng, thosai and don't miss out their roti canai which is very fluffy and savory.
Bos belanjer makan petang.. sempena perpisahan salah seorang maid kesayangan beliau.Famous fish head curry restaurant:Kanna Banana Leaf Curry House, Section ...
My portion: A few pieces of poppadom, 1 piece of deep fried tenggiri (mackerel) fish, 3 small prawns, banana leaf rice (small portion), default 3 vegetables dishes with a bit of each 5 types of curry gravy. A satisfying meal despite the curried radish being too salty (MYR 17.25 nett). I did not order a drink because I know I would be too full to eat and drink at one sitting.
Next, curry gravy. Their staff will bring the curry container and you will be spoiled with choices, as they have chicken curry, fish curry, crab curry and salted fish curry. Our favorite, will be fish and crab curry. But why limit ourselves, the best we would say, little scoop of everything to made it a curry combo (haha), Yummy !!!
We enjoyed the BLR here for its good offering of veggies and curries. We recommend the fried fish, mutton varuval and ikan bilis sambal.
The Chicken Varuval was really good. I specifically requested for chicken breast because I’d rather forego the bones and they delivered. The ‘Small’ option came with 4 meaty, juicy, flavorful chicken meat. It was an awesome addition to the banana leaf rice. The fried fish too, was tender and flavorful. Overall, a good experience. I’d be back for more. Burp!
Murni has changed a lot since back in the days, now they no longer sell roti. Food takes a while to be served. Lamb chop mee udon is okay. Somehow food on every other tables look better.
Dah lama tak lepak Murni ni. Sekali datang, masih macam dulu. Orang tak putus putus.
To make things easy for the night, we just go for all time Malaysian Favorite - Nasi Lemak Murni Discovery (RM 13.90). The nasi lemak platter is worth the price paid as it comes generously with a piece of chicken wings, sambal condiments with prawns, hard boiled egg, salted peanuts, slices of cucumbers on a piece of banana leaf. All the essential flavors are there. If we were to nitpick, it would be the sambal condiments lacking the driving factors to complement the rice.
Come at lunch with less crowd. It has some affordable lunch from RM 7.90 to RM 15+. The Curry here is really flavourful, one if my favorite place for affordable Indian food. We love the Masala tea..
Love having lunch here, nice meals (affordable) with less crowd.
Not queue on weekday lunch. Quality and tasty food.
Would I come back on my own? I don't think so but if my brother wants company to share a fish head curry meal, I would be game to return.
没想到这里的咖喱那么好吃,尤其是 Fish Curry,小的份量里有一块鱼肉、羊角豆、菜豆和豆腐卜,味道好到可以扯很多饭
Overall, Ratha Raub is a MUST TRY restaurant for Fish Head Curry lovers. We will definitely be coming back for more very soon.
This place is still very popular after so many years. The Fried Chicken Nasi Kandar (RM 15) has really crispy chicken with 5 types of curry. You will feel guilty having this too often, and it is..
The fried chicken rice is okay, but the mutton is just too fat. The food is decent, but not something worth coming from far just to sample.

Overall, not a memorable banana leaf lunch. Flavors were muted and lacked the robust punchiness that I often associate with good Indian cooking. The only good thing that I take away from Curry Leaf was that refreshing mango lassi.
Nak cari makan Nasi Beriyani atau Kari Kepala Ikan di area Damansara atau Petaling Jaya? Jom pergi Curryleaf Restaurant, Damansara Utama!
Ambiance: 6/10 Price: 6/10 Food: 6.5/10 (pork free) Verdict: Pretty good banana leaf rice. Try the mutton vindaloo while you’re at it.
Nasi Biryani Ayam Tanam Set (Comes with Dalcha and Timun Nenas Bawang) (Rm11.50) If you are not a white rice lover, have your briyani rice instead. Have the delicious fluffy briyani rice which is perfectly cooked with ghee and spices with it. They are served with the Ayam Tanam together with the Dalca and Timun Nenas Bawang. I am loving the aromatic spices taste of the briyani rice where the taste are wonderfully enhanced with their curry of course

For an original Nasi Kandar meal comprising of Chicken, Mutton and Cuttlefish to be priced at RM 21.80 , I would say that the prices were very reasonable. The food was good and this place surely lives up to it's reputation.
This dish was da bomb! They were right, this is most definitely a CHINDIAN dish. The Salted Egg from the Chinese side and the rest of the briyani from the Indian end, a surprisingly delicious combination.
#MalgudiIndianCuisine #Seksyen16Tucked in a quiet alley at Seksyen 16 of PJ, there is a semi fine dining restaurant【Malgudi】that serves both North and South ...
Verdict Malgudi is certainly one of the better semi fine dining Indian restaurants in Petaling Jaya. The restaurant has a vintage look to it and it is a relaxing place for lunch or dinner. The Chicken Thali in particular was amazing. We will definitely be dropping by Malgudi pretty soon.
Nice banana leave rice.
Verdict All in all, Sri Ganapathi Mess’s was a super satisfying lunch and we trust you will most likely leave with a stuffed and happy tummy. At least our friends over Chasing A Plate felt that way. Prices here are slightly above the average banana leaf eatery but the taste of their food totally made up for it.
Rice + 4 Vegetables + Papadum, 6 ringgit, Chicken Varuval, 8 ringgit, Sura Puttu, 6 ringgit, Fish Cutlet, 5 ringgit = 25 ringgit. Loved every single ingredient on the leaf. Yum! The vegetable option for the day was spinach, cucumber, bittergourd and brinjal. Delicious. The chicken curry was da bomb. Spicy and thick, flavorful, guaranteed to tickle your tastebuds with every single mouth you take. The meats was awesome as well. Couldnt have asked for a better wholesome Indian lunch.
[Pork-free] Let Masala Wheels take you to flavour-town! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for great food, service and social work.
Flavours of dishes were wholesomely delicious – our fried tenggiri slices were fresh, well-marinated, juicy and very tasty
Pretty good banana leaf rice which include Indian dessert.

Kami pergi tapau nais kandar di Restoran Mama Shaaz. Wow! Memang banyak sangat! Tapi tapau dengan makan kat restoran memang lain sangat rasa dia, tapi dah PKP nak buat macam mana. Bagi pendapat kami, sedap lagi nasi kandar NKE. Mungkin sebab rasa kuah dia belum sebati sangat. Tak pun feel dia lain. Hahah. Banyak lagi ada kat sini. Ada roti canai juga.
This 24 hour Nasi Kandar is dubbed as one of the best of Nasi Kandar in Subang Jaya.
We opted for the standard fried chicken, cabbage, and squid over white rice and “kuah campur”. Turns out Nasi Kandar Shaaz was quite delicious. The restaurant uses quality ingredients as the squid was fresh, soft and tender and the curries were thick and flavourful. The fried chicken had a crispy texture which complimented the curries and soft rice well.
In conclusion, our dinner was a treat. For a delicious banana leaf rice experience at night, Big Leaf BLR is the go to spot.
Overall, Big Leaf BLR is definitely a welcomed addition to the neighbourhood. While it doesn’t have the variety of curries like other popular banana leaf places do, it makes up for it with its outstanding dishes like fried squid, mutton masala and fried bitter gourd to warrant a return visit – making it one of the better BLRs in town.
Overall, it was ‘sedap’. I enjoyed the food.
必吃印度餅【Pelita Nasi Kandar】Roti Telur
Korang memang tau kan kat sini memang terbaek nasi kandar dier!
Ayam kicap ni pelik sebab memang hitam legam. Akupun tak tau dia guna cikap cap apa.
The roti here is nice, our favourite are Tosai Masala and Roti Special. Satay is decent, but not above average.
Food still good. Satay, Tosai Rawa and Maggi Goreng.
Roti special still good, and fried Maggi mee pretty good too.
The average for a pax is RM14 – RM18! I normally pair my banana leaf with two or three meat dishes to share! 😍👍🏻 Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family for its great taste and affordable pricing! 🤗
I at like a pig 🙂 Yup, I did. The chicken Varuval was one of a kind. I think they added some mysterious spice into it, it tasted different from most of the other varuvals I’ve tasted. Different in a very appealing way. Yummm! The Chicken 65 was the usual pieces of fried chicken meat. Yummy. The prawns were awesome. It had an equal mix of sweet and spicy. Delicious and they do give you a generous portion of prawns, not just a few pieces with loads and loads of gravy – the kind you would get in many Indian restaurants. The vegetables were delicious, they also have acar if you guys are interested. Rasam came soon after with a cup of Thairu/Mooru/ Yogurt?
As much as one would want to keep this place secret, it’s also the kind of place you cannot help but bring a friend, just so they too can…
Decent banana leave rice.
The roti kosong is neither fresh or crispy, the fried donut and curry puff is okay. Most people come here for the banana leaf rice.
Over the years, Kanna has grown very popular to the point that either the fame got into their head or they got haters. People started saying how the prices have gone up, the portion's gotten smaller, the quality isn't as good anymore. While that's true of the PJ branch, this is my first visit to the Puchong branch so I could only comment on the price. It is indeed slightly pricier than normal. The veggies are standard dishes. You get the taste of the spices in them. Curry was spicy. Rice was hot.

Rojak is one of the local's favourite street snack in Malaysia. The term rojak means mixture in Malay. You can expect lots of different ingredients to be mixed up in the dish. There are 3 types of rojaks in Malaysia; the rojak Mamak, fruit rojak and sotong kangkung rojak. The most common rojak is the rojak Mamak also known as Pasembur in the northern regions of Peninsula Malaysia.
Afterall, with the crowd seen, we believe it wont go far from being nice. No harm trying. Rojak biasa is priced at RM4.20, Rojak with Sotong is RM5.70 per packet. Shredded cucumber, sengkuang, deep fried dough fritters, prawn fritters, hard boiled egg and cuttlefish piled up, dressed in a bed of thick, peanuty sauce that carries mild spiciness and sweetness. Gravy was tad too sweet for our liking, while for ingredients, we do like the crispy prawn fritters. Sotong was properly cooked too, chewy but not rubbery.
