Overall, having sushi at Sushiro reminds me of those days as a student and having sushi at Sakae sushi; affordable sushi for all with basic quality sushi.
Sushiro had a cold option on their menu though, which I was curious about. It was kinda like hiyayakko from a texture perspective, but with a savory seafood taste that came through more cleanly than in the hot version. I might actually order this again.
Food at Sushiro features classic Japanese cuisine and modern Japanese Fusion cuisine, with a focus on zushi / sushi.
It was a good experience with Tajimaya for the service crew was on the ball, most importantly no delaying in our online order and absolutely friendly. For those who love Yakiniku and Premium Meats, this buffet is well worth it in terms of quality and standard of service.
Overall, for good quality meat and pretty prompt service, the buffet is quite worth the money. It will even be more value for the money for those eating the wagyu beef.
Tajimaya at VivoCity—managed by the Creativeateries group—offers a Japanese Yakiniku buffet which comes with unlimited Wagyu, Iberico Pork, Tiger Prawns, Sashimi and more.
Overall, I think the ramen offering is simple with only a couple of choices but they did a great job nailing the flavours perfectly. Everything from the broth, toppings and noodles was on point and can definitely satisfy my ramen cravings anytime
Service at Ramen Hitoyoshi is partial self-service.
If you are searching for quality ramen at affordable prices, make Ramen Hitoyoshi your next dining destination.
Una Una, located in Vivo City, specializes in Unagi dishes. We tried it out for lunch one weekend.
Overall, the Hitsumabushi at Una Una did not disappoint and for the price point, it will definitely be a restaurant to visit whenever I crave grilled unagi. Although I still feel the live eel at Man Man did make a difference to the texture of the eel itself, the value-for-money price point at Una Una is a worthy substitute

Overall, the tempura dishes were all delicious and very crispy. There were some very interesting selections for tempura under the a la carte selections and it would be nice to order those and try them one by one next to the Chef’s counter. There was a slight smell of oil lingering on me when I was leaving the restaurant due to the open frying pots but it was not unbearable
Not bad. Quite crispy and fresh, but the sauce was unmemorable and there was nothing to make me want to come back again.
I'd highly recommend a splurge on their yakitori and dons, just once and you could be sold too.
A superb recommendation by the waitress, the Bincho Style Grilled Octopus ($45), sided by a capsicum sauce, was perfectly cooked and delicious on its own.
13 reviews of Bincho at Hua Bee "I won't repeat what others have said about the unique nature of this place. If you have not been here before, you should! Dinner prices can however be a bit steep. Lunch sets are however pretty good value, so I'll…
I actually resisted having a buffet but after seeing the serving of Kumo Japanese Dining, I'm pleased. Every portion was manageable and food quality is of standard.
One thing you really shouldn’t miss is their larger than usual assortment of Tempura Agemono for you to sample.
I found that the price for lunch buffet was quite pricey but the foods were good especially the desserts.
Hot competition amongst the hotpot restaurants in the past years, with major Chinese brand HaiDiLao and local favourites Beauty in The Pot drawing huge crowd back to steamboat.
Himawari Japanese Restaurant at Alexandra Road is a crowded place at lunchtime on weekdays. Office workers from the surrounding areas come for the affordable set lunch deals.
The sashimi was really fresh and the signature mix maki quite tasty and rich in flavours. Signature #1 consisted of tempura prawn, egg, cucumber, avocado topped with salmon roe and bonito flakes, and was pleasantly sweet due to the sweet takoyaki-like sauce, and signature #2 spicy tempura prawn, egg, cucumber, avocado topped with awanori furikake, and was a bit more creamy and savoury-spicy from the mentaiko-like sauce.
I had never heard of these guys before, but we ordered lunch from them today (321 Alexandra Road #02-04, 9366-8199). This bara chirashi wasn't anything to go nuts over either. Yet it was edible enough for me to eat quickly without feeling guilty about it.
I seriously think Aburi-EN should consider adding cute cow lanterns to its decor as I honestly thought, initially, its signature meat was p...
Beer's $5 a mug during happy hours. Sapporo on tap or Orion from bottle.
Anyway, I'm just glad to have the chance to satisfy my Japanese curry craving anytime I want.
Jin Ho Mia @ Alexandra Retail Centre is good for someone who look for simple and healthier meal or just catch up with your friends for a pint of beer there.
Jin Ho Mia—which means ‘a really good life’ in Hokkien—is the newest addition to the Alexandra Retail Centre that serves up rice and salad bowls for lunch and hot pots for dinner.
As a whole, I found the food at Jin Ho Mia mediocre and unworthy of the price.
Overall, the Tonkatsu at Enbiton is really up to standards and the unique yuzu pork is extremely juicy yet refreshing. I would highly recommend the Oroshi version where the daikon is really a great pairing with the crispy Tonkatsu without taking the limelight from the katsu itself
Overall, I find the ramen at Menya Musashi pretty nice although my Tsukemen broth was on the salty side. While the flavours are different from the usual Japanese ramen as their taste is creamier and thicker with a modern twist, the ramen is still good.
The quality of our meals was good and I will like to be back for their Charashi Bowls.
The service staff thoughtfully arranged for this course to be served last - a carby and filling one to say the least.
The interior of IKYU Japanese restaurant was quite un-Japanese. It occupies a dark space with exposed pipes, bare light bulbs, distressed walls and basic furniture.
Frankly, the Rantee and I were pretty underwhelmed by our experience here. There were no standout dishes, and this might just be Les Amis Group weakest link at the moment.
I liked the framed dynamic manga scenes hanging along the wall, which gives the space some character and brings out that fun aspect.
I have a love-hate relationship with pizzas; absolutely relishing in them every single time while lamenting and feeling all guilty about the massive calorie gain right after the meal!
