The bowl looked fiery red when it came to the table; there were soft slices of tofu swimming within, and the soup’s colour contrasted nicely with the enoki mushrooms and spring onion garnish on top. The soup was the bomb. Some places cut corners and add more kimchi paste, which means you get watery, ‘flavoured’ soup — but with this, I could really taste the texture of fibrous, blended vegetables, and there was a good amount of kimchi within as well. It was thick and sour, perfect for whetting the appetite, and the slight viscosity meant that the soup clung to each strand of ramyeon for maximum flavour. Did I also mention that the pork slices were super tender and had a great ratio of lean and fat?
I just want to mention real quick that this is one of the few restaurants that has one of the best customer service I have ever experienced. This is really rare in Malaysians restaurants I must say. The owner is insanely friendly and all smiles attending to every table's request, looking around at every table every few minutes or so to see if everything is all good. You can see the leadership influence in his staff as they do the same as well. Kudos to the team!! So, let's get to it!
I had the Ramyeon with Cheese (RM16), which was served with the usual sides like pickled vegetables, kimchi, fishcakes and tofu. Ramyeon was a tad overcooked so the noodles were too soft, and the soup was too diluted, so it was a quite disappointing. Still, if you’re in the area and looking for Korean food, this is one of the only ones around aside from Ticket to Korea, and I think that they do serve some pretty decent BBQ.
The star of the evening 😍 Pork belly would have been a good choice too but something told me this would be better and boy, did I hit the jackpot. If you only take them lean (man, you don't know what you're missing out on), they do have that. The best slices are those with a layer of fat running through. These are not as fatty as pork belly so maybe not so guilty?
Overall, our experience at Seoul BBQ felt underwhelming. It was not bad for the price we paid – but I would rather splurge a bit more for better options. It’s a decent choice if you’re on a budget, though.
For succulent sticks of fresh ribs, you’ve come to the right place. Diners will be salivating at the Spicy Pork rib (RM 29) with the sticky sweet and spicy sticks of rib, juicy bite of Pork Shoulder (RM 21) and Pork Belly (RM 19) meat. At the same time, one would also be able to fill up the carb crave with some of those Baby Cheese rice balls (RM 9). You can’t see the cheese in this one but you’d be able to taste the harmony of this milky cheese and mouth savouring brine of nori within that compact rice.
The soy-sauce chicken wings (RM19 – set of four wings/drummettes) fared much better and seemed to be a hit with most tables. Not the meatiest, but they were juicy and tender with a crispy coat, covered in a delightful sweet and savoury sauce. The sauce was a tad sweeter than the average K-chicken wings I’ve had, but tasty nonetheless. Good stuff. Didn’t feel overly greasy too
Prices are range from RM15++ and are standard for an establishment of its kind. But because the resto is pretty quiet most of the time, I think it’s a good choice for when you want to hang out over drinks and food, without having to worry about vacating your seat.
I had the fried ramyeon (Spicy), adding on a sunny side up fried egg to go with my honey-soy flavoured chicken balls. The ramyeon had a wonderful al-dente texture which was springy to the bite, coated in spicy-sweet sauce that packed a punch. The chicken balls were somehow too fatty for my liking (under the chicken skin), although the flavour was good.
All in all, I’d rate it as an above average K BBQ experience, and the portion was just right for two medium to big eaters. We had quite a lot of leftovers, so we had it to go.
Fairly tasty and big portion, price slightly high.
Red Carbonara Jampong (RM28) Comment: Surprisingly taste quite good as it is a Jampong with a carbonara twist, creamy and rich in flavor, very appetizing and you would actually crave for more after taking a bite. I am satisfied with the amount of pork belly they used for this dish, not forgetting your protein intake.
The Tonkatsu, initially did not receive popularity in Korea as it is too "thick" (thick fried pork cutlet); so, the Korean version is different in that it is thinner and often traditionally served un-sliced.
Guess most of the first timer like us would never notice unless neighbouring table keeps having this pile of goodies on their table – Premium Pork Sirloin Thin Cut! This premium cut has the same texture as you had (just thicker) in Bar.B.Q Plaza, taste so “masitda” (delicious in Korean) and gets better while dipping with sweet bean paste sauce. 😉
I will definitely come back to visit again and also recommend it to my friends who love korean BBQ ! So worth it <3
Yes, you are right! All you can eat with refilled unlimitedly with only Rm27 for lunch and Rm29 for dinner. I like the interior very much where it have the local Korea feel.
Battered shrimps and crispy calamaris are another favourite of ours. Not oily, deep fried to golden brown batter jacketing bouncy squid and prawns. Choose to have soy garlic or spicy hot coating.
4Fingers Crispy Chicken is a Singaporean chain of fast casual restaurants that specializes in crispy Korean style fried chicken. Headquartered in Singapore, the chain was founded in 2009 and currently has 13 stores in Singapore and Malaysia.
What can I say? Finger lickin’ good. Despite being fried, the chicken wasn’t greasy and you can really hear the crunch as you bite into each piece. The soy garlic sauce was excellent – sweet and salty, garlicky goodness. Polished off six pieces with no trouble. Had the rest to take home. 😀 Definitely someplace I’d come back to if I’m ever in Sunway Pyramid! 🙂
USJ10's Muk Ó offers 12 Bentos from rm$13.50 to rm$17.90 of Chicken and Beef (with choices of either 3 or 7 side dishes).
The 7 mini to small side dishes are the usual Tofu cubes, and I think Hash Brown.
The ultra-spicy korean style chee cheong fun (Topoki) comes with some bean curds and a boiled egg; it is super spicy!
Best Seller Honey Wingnette and Drummette RM22.00 is the best seller (non-spicy and easily acceptable by any age) in KyoChon. The overall fried chicken which consists of wings was crunchy and well spiced with a dulcet of honey coating, while the crust tastes do resemble one of our daily local snacks “Fried Banana (Pisang Goreng)”.
Disebabkan kami mostly memang suka pedas, so memang kami amik ayam pedas full bucket dan rasanya memang pedas berapi nasib baiklah ada ayam honey tu do dapatlah kurang pedas sikit. Ayam honey tu tak manis pon just sedap manis berlemak. So better ratah ayam saja pon dah kenyang.
Overall the flavour was pretty good, although I still prefer the one from Gangnam 88. For RM20.90 per set, the price was reasonable but I wished they had more ingredients instead of just a few pieces of fishballs/crabsticks, and less cabbage.
What makes the USJ10 大长今 outstanding is to me, of course, the level of service and the detailed attention accorded to its customers by each and every person working there.
A yummy korean meal in Subang Jaya UEP. There are plenty of korean restaurant with this name, but i think this is a standalone restaurant not affliliated to any other restaurant with the same name.
Jjajang Myeon @ RM17.90 Whenever I explore a new restaurant, I always go for something that I have not tried before and this Jjajang Myeon (Sweet Korean black bean sauce noodle) is definitely on my list. They look pretty ordinary but little did I expect that they actually taste so good! Just mix the noodle well with the sauce and enjoy slurping it down the throat. The sweet and savoury flavours complement each other well and keep me craving for more!
For the signature fried chicken, you may choose either drumsticks or wings (with drummets), while for the flavour, you can pick up to two type of flavours namely Soy Garlic, Yangnyeom or Monster, depending on your preferred level of spiciness. Perfectly tender and juicy, the drumsticks were absolutely flavourful and lip-smackingly good. Not for the faint-hearted, the extra hot Monster sauce was so spicy that it's brought tears to our eyes, even for spicy food lovers like me. On the other hand, the regular spicy Yangnyeom with just the right amount of heat was perfect!
Overall I love their crispy, tender and juicy fried chicken be it any sauce it taste to good and addictive. Dining here makes me feel so hip and trendy because of the restaurant ambience, design and the k-pop music. In terms of price wise, I would say it is reasonable and comes in decent portion. If you are going with a group of friends or family be sure to order their Big Bang Set. Yes! I will go back for more monster sauce Jinjja Chicken Wings hehehhe.
After tasted the series, I find Papaya Mango Milk is very interesting. The taste of papaya is not overpowering yet you can taste the sweetness of mango. A glass of this will certainly make you quite full.
My fav is Pear Ginger and second choice will be Grapefruit. The taste is diff when it is serve warm
We ordered 2 watermelon juice, taste so refreshing. Yum yum~
Overall their food is fresh and delicious so head down to KG Charcoal BBQ today and enjoy an endless meal with friends and family.
Overall it was an enjoyable dinner and we felt our money was well spent here. As long as you set your expectations straight I don’t think you’d go home disappointed. After all, KG is an ‘eat all you can’ restaurant so you can’t expect the quality of the food to be fantastic. There are a couple of pros to pick KG over Kilo Grill such as no time limit, more food choices and more family/group dining friendly due to more space. Not to mention the ventilation here is much better as well so your clothes won’t smell as bad later.
The menu is simple and straight forward. Choose either chicken, beef, lamb, pork or seafood. They come a la carte or in set. Meat set, seafood set or skewer set. My recommendation for you is to go straight for the set and then if you can stomach more, order the extras individually. This way, you’ll get to try everything.
