The calamari is deliciously good ! They are beautifully deep fried till perfection and they are topped with the garlic aioli, chili sauce and the tartare sauce with it.
Dig into their mains menu featuring their juicy Lamb Chop and you are in for a meaty treat. Featuring one of the most prized and tender parts of the lamb, these succulents Australian lamb shoulder chops are grilled to perfection and served with straight cut fries with a choice of Mushroom black pepper or Rosemary sauce for the extra flavour!
When we sat down, I was looking forward to coming back and trying some of Jama’s other menu items. As soon as our child-sized meal was placed in front of us, I said out loud, “yeah… we’re not coming back here.” Everything is served on tiny appetizer plates to make it look like you’re getting a full plate of food. This is like a disguised tapas place where you have to order at least five things to be adequately full. The flavours are not amazing and the food is not even plated beautifully to justify the prices. Admittedly, Jama KL has the prettiest venue compared to their competition in Solaris, but I’m never coming here again when there are perfectly good alternatives on Jalan Kiara. I’m not paying more money for 40% less food.
Reasons to visit Jama KL: An approachable yet adventurous menu that will excite with unbeatable prices; a drinks menu that has something to offer everyone, especially wine lovers; and unbeatable prices in a warm, inviting setting perfect for an extended family brunch or a first date.
Verdict: They need to incorporate more Mamee noodles in their offerings, to be honest. That’s just my humble opinion. Food is good, not great – I think this is a one-time visit for me.
