In the morning, Restoran Sun Fatt Kee 新發记餐室 (PJ Seapark) offers the famous "Sister Curry Mee". But in the evening, although the shop is closed, the shop rent its outdoor spaces to a Bak Kut Teh stall as well as the famous PJ Seapark "Bumbung Nasi Lemak"! The stall offers only one recipe, Nasi Lemak with fried chicken plus drinks such as teh tarik.
Nasi Lemak, 6 ringgit. Man, this was delicious. The chicken sure was tasty. I received a thigh piece with plenty of meat on it. Yay! It sure was flavorsome, packed with spices. You’d literally feel/taste it with every bite. Their ‘sambal’ was different, yummy nonetheless. I noticed the regulars requesting an additional /top up for the sambal and yes, perhaps next time I will do the same with some extra kacang on the side too because it was hardly enough. It was not a case of them giving me little, nope, not at all, the case here is that it is yummy and tasty that you tend to pile on the sambal with each mouth. So, that explains why literally every table requested for an extra serving of sambal. The Nasi Lemak as a whole was delicious.
Firstly, we have to say that the fried chicken is one of a kind, something new which we’ve never tasted before. It was crispy and aromatic, as all fried chicken should. The unique part is its skin which almost tasted like muruku. Upon closer look we saw some Indian spices such as cumin and fennel seeds which explain the unique taste.
After saw Bangsar-Babe posting on this nasi lemak stall, it had been a tempting sensation till I have been visiting this stall for twice a week for the past 2 weeks. It is addictive at times were last time I used to come 3-4 times a week here. Bumbung Nasi Lemak at Maybank Seapark is indeed one of a supper place to hunt for when it comes to best nasi lemak in PJ.
All in all, our favourite place for cheap, late night nasi lemak in Petaling Jaya!
It was good supper for us. The foods are delicious but I hope they can serve them hot in future. As I managed to get seat nearby the Kitchen I managed to see them preparing eggs nonstop (Minimum 40 eggs) during my eating process. The total bill was RM 14.50 for foods and drinks which are consider cheap.
