Indocafé - the white house Restaurant

35 & 35A Scotts Road, Singapore 228227

Nestled in an idyllic green expanse of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the populous Orchard Road, the majestic white house bungalow conjures fond memories of Singapore where the past resides. An iconic, colonial sanctuary of inner wonders, INDOCAFE has been strongly influenced by the Straits-Asian region, merging innovation with rich flavors of tradition to create delectable modern Peranakan fine dining cuisine.

For the ambience and the quality of food, I would say go for it. INDOCAFE – the white house’s peranakan food resembles that of Penang’s more of Indonesia or Melaka’s. I am usually not a fan of Peranakan food, but I must say that now, when people ask me where for Peranakan fare, I will suggest INDOCAFE.

She said the ambience and service are top-notched, the price affordable ($40-60 a pax), the food as good as the other Peranakan restaurant I recommended, and there is FREE PARKING.

Penang Place has an assortment of nonya kuehs which they made on their own. Try the Pulut Tatai, the steamed glutinous rice goes exceptionally well with kaya.
