Overall, the price at Rutin is on the steeper side but undoubtedly the portion serving here is relatively large and tastes good.
Rutin - Special Order - 蒸包
RUTIN SENTRAL JAYA - Strongly recommended for breakfast.....
Salted Egg Yolk Squid was the only dish that left us with the deepest impression, not that the Squid was huge in size but the Salted Egg Yolk element was bold. The greasy aroma swims on the palate even after a while; the exterior was crisp and the sandy Salted Egg Yolk carried a hint of sweetness. It was a dangerously addictive dish
One of the signature dish here will be their Honey Chicken (RM 10.00). It is pretty textbook - grilled to perfection with soft meat, sweet honey taste, and the taste blended so well with the taste buds. This is one of the dish that we will never get bored eating.
午市和晚市这时段以煮炒为主价格方面其实我们觉得很实惠哦这里盘点几道印象深刻又美味的煮炒哦~
Hikers that frequent Cherok To'Kun Hill at Bukit Mertajam, Penang should not be new to the name- Pan Man Mee Kuah Ketam. It is highly visible from the bustling Jalan Kulim, right at the junction to the foot of the hill. Many hikers usually stretch their hiking legs or take a quick recharge at the coffee shop before continuing their journey while some reward themselves with a serving of lip-smacking Mee Kuah Ketam (vice versa). I hope the name "Mee Kuah Ketam" rings a bell. "Kuah" refers to "gravy" in Malay and the direct translation would be "Noodles with Crab gravy". The seemingly thick, rich and starchy gravy was cooked for hours- boiling the (flower) crabs to fully accentuate the flavors. The result is a sweet, gooey gravy with bold crustacean sweetness; the dish is often served with Yellow noodles and extra condiments such as Baby Cuttlefish, Meat, fried Beancurd, boiled Potatoes and fried Fritters. While there are a few good ones around, Pak Man is one of the famous ones.
Look like very authentic Chinese Kopitiam
Crab Spaghetti .....sign dish here!!
The restaurant ambient is good...I mean clean, quiet, cool and relaxing.
The Will's Brasserie can be easily stereotyped as the conventional-boring Western food in the neighborhood, at least both the interior and exterior decor did not convince us but if you were to study the menu thoroughly, you will find that it's actually a place offering premium steak cuts and seafood. There's a display fridge at the end of the restaurant where ambitious meat eaters can pick their preferred cuts and pay according to the weight of the meat (same goes to Seafood). Premium products such as Wagyu Beef, Angus Beef, New Zealand Lamb Loin, Lobster and Cod are available (no, they don't come at the prices that you would want to pay for a casual-regular meal) while the budget-watchers can opt for the pasta and poultry dishes on the menu. The Will's Brasserie is located in front of Iconic Hotel at Icon City.
The Tom Yum Seafood was probably our favorite dish of the evening... sweat inducing but packed with great flavors. The dish could have more seafood but the soup itself was very delicious and best spooned over rice
Thong Thong Restaurant is a well known restaurant in Bukit Mertajam, operating for more than 8 years Mr. Teh Meng Thong is a great chef. He keeps on improvising the dishes recipe until perfection. The signature dishes here are Flower Crab in Seafood Broth and Wine, Curry Fish Head and Stout Chicken. The pricing of the food here is very reasonable too. The location that at the center of BM market with convenience and ampleness of parking lots.
The name "Tomyam Town" paints a picture, the place should not be new to Tom Yum devotees, the brand is well-established in the township of Bukit Mertajam. One of Tomyam Town's branches is located at Icon City, where clamoring crowd can be easily noticed during evenings on weekends. The restaurant adopts "help yourself" style- all possible ingredients are displayed right in front of the counter and diners are to pick their preferred ingredients to be added into the noodle-dish (though variety is limited to processed food mostly, with some frozen Seafood). Impossible to tell the prices but from our experience, it seems like the prices are reasonable and may not cause a dent on the wallet.
The "pick your Seafood on the table" trend has spread over to mainland; the newly opened Captain A Seafood House at Taman Lembah Permai, Bukit Mertajam is one of the latest cafes that adopts this serving method. Tucked in one of the shop houses at Taman Lembah Permai, Captain A Seafood House serves its Seafood on the table (the standard menu similar to most of its competitors), with a few special twists of theirs. The signage does not suggest much on what are the items they serve but those who are in the know will eventually make their way there for their Seafood. The place is fully air-conditioned but the seats could be more spacious; affordably priced if that's your concern.
