What a good meal we had indeed. I do not mind return to either of their restaurant for more delicious food!
The hotel was re-opened in 2012 with a re-design done by Tiah Nan Chyuan and his team from local design firm, FARM.
We are not a big fan of the decor and atmosphere of Enjoy Eating House and Bar @ Jalan Besar. However, the food we tried were enjoyable. The menu is fairly extensive and prices are reasonable.
Thankfully the years of Michelin stardom do not seem to have adversely affected the appeal of the Singapore Michelin Star Hawker Bak Chor Mee. The thought of long queues was the reason we had not visited them in a while. It seems that the situation is not too bad during off-peak hours.
This Teochew-style pork noodle was started from a pushcart in 1932 before moving into a coffee shop in 1939 at Hill Street then moved to Mar...
This was the bak chor mee of the one Michelin star fame. The sauce here tasted just right, with a balanced tartness and savouriness. There was care taken with every ingredient, such that everything tasted great, including the meatballs which were outstanding in terms of texture and freshness.
The JB Fried Bee Hoon was nicely crispy, charred, smoky and full of wok hei. It was almost like a pancake, had a nice seafood flavour, and a balanced savouriness and garlickyness. The plate was moist inside and came with tender sotong, two springy and sweet prawns, and tender fishcakes. Nice food with a nice view across Marina Bay Golf Course.
Their lack of service staff was quite obvious as it took a while to get the attention of the waitress and many tables were not cleared during peak hours.
n my wildest imagination, I would never expect a cafe at a golf course can dish out such delicious local dishes.
Overall, we throughly enjoyed our dining experience at Subrosa.
So give it a try if you are sick of stuffy French or Italian cuisine and have a go at this local + European fusion restaurant.
It's not that the food is bad, and i don't mean to sound harsh. I'm really just confused. With some fine-tuning, i think there's potential at Subrosa.
Go with friends and family and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it.
This is another rare occasion that I fall in love with every dishes I tried.
In most aspects, the dishes at The Chinese Kitchen are quite unique in its own way, specially curated by Chef Austen.
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
The roast duck and char siew we tried were nice but nothing to rave about.
Perhaps it is the lack of experience in running a full-fledged eatery, but Yan Chuan Roasters would need to sit down and rethink their concept again if they are looking to make significant changes that would benefit them in the long run.
Although Dignity Kitchen main mission is a social enterprise, the food serves here are of a good standard. They are also tasty and generous with their portion.
It takes some patience to eat here but your patience will be rewarded by good food. I will definitely return for more. We pay for our meals anonymously.

Tie Fun Wan stands out with a healthy meal option with no oil and msg.
The 72-Hr Slow Cooked Beef bowl consists of lightly torched beef slices served with the housemade teriyaki plum sauce together with the 63-degree egg and greens, garnished with bonito flakes and chopped spring onions.
Now, I don't remember it being as good as JB Ah Meng, but I was happy nonetheless. Thumbs up.
The laksa was thick and savoury, with just slight sweetness. The laksa gravy was really rich and fragrant of hae bi and coconut milk, becoming almost a thick paste. Very addictive gravy. The tau pok soaked up the gravy very well, the fish cakes were springy and moist, and the prawn fresh. springy and plump. One of my favourites among the recent laksas we have tasted.
I do see myself splurging for the abalone pork noodles at Gimee Face, but on most days, the pork noodles provide incredible value at $3.80, and that is the stall’s biggest strength.
Haven Bistro provides restaurant quality teppanyaki at budget prices.
Truely a place where we can all come together to feast together no matter what is our race or creed. It is not my first and definitely won’t be the last time back at Big Street Restaurant!
Da Jie Famous Wanton Noodle is indeed one of the best Wanton Noodle I ever had.
Needless to say, yes. Try this if you love glutinous rice.
